We have employed XOOPS to run on our internal Intranet. I'm still setting it up, but at the end I am going to give it a name. But what? I need some ideas...

The site will basically be a place where we share our knowledge and experience, post any articles we find that are of interest to our field, find and download our software, find guidance documents and other resources that are relevant to our office, upload pictures of our field trips, and place information about training courses and meetings.

Can anyone think of a catchy yet professional name?

Does anyone know what the 'Catergory Weight' option is when adding a new catergory in the WFDownloads module developed for Xoops? The default value is 0. What's the range and what is it for?

Nope - no go mate. Still places 'http://' before anything that I put.

If its any help, the default XOOPS module will allow direct linking in this way because that's what I used originally before WFDownloads. Also, the postnuke module allows it (if I recall correctly).

Trouble is that it is very urgent for us. All our downloads are in a file storage area seperate from the XOOPS system. So this is the ONLY way we can link to it using a CMS like Xoops. Please also remeber its an internal Intranet, so no external links, thus no need forhttp://.

Please can someone help? Is there a bit of code I can change in a certain file to stop it doing this? There must be a 'if link field = true then updated_link field = 'http://' + 'inputted_variable_string' that I could change to 'blank_value' + 'inputted_variable_string'?

Thanks

Does anyone happen to know an answer to this before I re-input all my data? If I can't have a local link to an area on my LAN then it's no use to me (regretably). I notice there is reference on the forum to a similar problem but relating just to footers of Xoops. This is specifically for the WFDownloads module.

Just in case, I've done a total re-install of the XOOPS system and the module! XOOPS 2.0.7 this time, and WFDownloads 2.0.4.. No apparent change yet with what I have input so far, although I've got to put all the catergories back in (forgot to copy database!!).

At least that eliminates the possibility of version conflicts.

No firewall issues - the fact that it's an internal netwrok means no firewall necessary. Its only for a small team of 8.

Not sure what you mean by registration? I just downloaded it, and installed it as a webmaster?

I'll try the wfsections website and post details on sourceforge too.

Hi

I have set up the new version of wfdownloads. The screenshot below shows the display when the wfdownloads button is clicked.

http://www.lost-doggies.com/temp_graphics/scrshot_a.jpg

However, when I click on any of the catergories listed, I get an awful display as can be seen in this screenshot :

http://www.lost-doggies.com/temp_graphics/scrshot_b.jpg

How can I get screen b to be displayed the same as screen a?

(Could not post on wfsection web site because unable to register?)

Using XOOPS 2.0.6 and WFDownloads 2.0.4

Thanks

Thanks.

Problem 3...!!

We're on an internal Intranet, and links to the files are \\servername\folder1\folder2 etc. Problem is that the module places a http:// at the front when I click save, so the link ends up like : http://\\servername\folder1\folder2, and obviously doesn't work.

I assume this is the special chars function used in php, but is there a way round it?

Hi

2 things :

1) Once you've added a download item to a catergory, how do you get it to show up in the list? Mine still report zero files in each catergory. I have said 'No' to the preference 'Auto Approve New Downloads without Admin intervention' so that they are put straight on and I'm adding them as webmaster using the WFDownloads Administration menu, not via the main area.

2) How do you get the sub catergory display to match the first page that you see when you click the 'WFDownloads' button on the menu? That screen is nicely nested with little blue folder pictures next to each main catergory. I want my subcatergories to look the same when a user cliks on them.

I'm using the latest release of 2.0.4

Thanks

Thanks for getting this module out chap.

Not sure if its a bug or not, but I appear to be missing the wfdupdate.php file? I've done the rest of the instructions and opened my site, gone to modules\wfdownloads and selected update, and it appeared to update the database, and it works OK (except the second page of catergory links is still a bit untitdy and nothing like the first page of catergories that is nicely nested)

The file isn't in the zip so I doubt that my XOOPS site deleted it during the update.? Any thoughts
