At one time, there was discussion about adding an "Email2Forum" option to the XOOPS forum module. Does anyone know if something like this is still in the "works"?

Thanks!

I am having a real problem with this. I have edited my theme.html and then I go in and delete the files from the templates_c folder (which is what I've always done). After I delete the files, I get a blank page on the website.

If I don't delete the files, of course the old code is still showing even though the template is changed.

Does anyone have any ideas. The website in question ishttp://www.gracemet.com

The logo is what I'm having a problem with.

Also, I'm using the latest version of Xoops.

EDIT: Never mind, found my problem.

I feel really stupid right now, but I relied heavily on the version numbers at the bottom of the admin screens of Xoops. I have many clients that I have implemented XOOPS on and all of them are running various versions.

Recently, I was working on a site that I had upgraded to version 2.2, and lo and behold, there are no version numbers. Now I don't know what patches to upload, etc.

Is there any way I can find out the version numbers of the current installations without completing redoing a site from the beginning? Please tell me there is!

I am having upload problems. I had ImageMagik installed today on my server. Now, when I go to upload pictures, I get this error message:

"The picture 'xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx.jpg' can't be inserted into the album

Error executing ImageMagick - Return value: 127"

This is not a live site yet - I am using the IP address to access it. Could this be a problem? Never has been before. Any ideas?

However, I can log in with my userid and password AND her userid and password and make changes, create categories, etc. I think there is something on her computer that keeps her from getting access, however, I can't figure out what.

I have installed XOOPS for a new client. I have main webmaster status, and I have given webmaster status to the client also. They are able to log into the admin area and access all the modules.

However, as an example:

When they click on the button for the "SmartPartner" module, and they try to create a category - they tell me they get an error "cannot query database". And they cannot create a category.

Same with the quotes module, the forums, etc.

Any ideas? I was able to log in with their userid and password, and I had no problems whatsoever setting up anything.

Now, I do know that they run Norton's. Would that have anything to do with it?

Thanks for any help.

This weekend, I had two clients with XOOPS websites go over their allotted bandwidth. And it wasn't even the middle of the month!

Upon further investigation, I found out that GoggleBot was the culprit. Apprarently, it really liked the piCal module.

After researching the XOOPS site, I found this:

In your XOOPS installation the default robots.txt file is fine the way it is for *most* cases. The only time you should ever have to chage that file is if you install piCal or if you just don't want search engines to index certain areas of your site.

The reason you want to disallow access to piCal is because the spiders will each up all your bandwidth searching through the calendars internal links month by month. To disallow piCal, just add the following to robots.txt:

Disallow: /modules/piCal/

(Taken fromhttps://xoops.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=306)

Well, before I found this, I disabled the piCal module on one of the sites because it turned out that they weren't using it. Thought that would solve the problem - but it appears that Googlebot is STILL trying to access it. So I have added the above "disallow" to see if that works. Ugh!

Hopefully this will take care of it. Just wanted to post it here in case someone else has the same problem.

Oh, boy! OK - I see how to get them into the extended profiles module - but I've got over 600 registered users! Can these be added by bulk or is it a one-by-one proposition?
