Glad to hear it worked out

Sounds like you ran into some bad luck as you had to do it four times.

But as long as it works now

Let's hear if re-installing XOOPS solves the problem.

I have no idea why you get blank pages.

Try logging in on your site and then type this URI in your browser:

http://YOUR-SITE/modules/system/admin.php?fct=preferences&op=show&confcat_id=1

Do you still get a blank page?

It is by the way where you should setup the default language for your site.

Hmmm...

Odd.

Does your URL resemble this or something completely different:

http://YOUR-SITE/modules/system/admin.php?fct=findusers ?

I know, not much help, but I don't know where else to start.

As for giving one of your users the rang "moderator" go to edit user and change his rank there. Note that rank does nothing but looking pretty.

If you want to change his persmissions, go to groups. At least that should get you moving for now, until the other problem is sorted out.

What kind of data?

Akin to comments and topics posted by users?

Mithrandir:

You always seem to succeed in replying while I am trying to write a reply myself

Never done it myself, but I believe you should go to

System Admin

Preferences

Generel settings

and under

Module for your start page

select the module you want.

However, I might be wrong as I haven't tried it myself.

I just installed it and took a brief look at it, so I might have misunderstood something.

1. Install it

2. Prepare some content you want to display. Complete with HTML and PHP-code. Save it under /modules/cjaycontent/content/

3. Go to admin/blocks, klik on CJayContent (for some reason it doesn't show up in the lefthand column in the admin page).

4. Fill in the fields under Add new content connection and select the file, you want to dislpay.

5. Click Add connection.

6. Take a look at your frontpage.

This should give you a starting point from which to explore the rest by yourself.

Sounds like you need something like CJayContent.

It should be able to do exactly what you want.

I don't know much about it, though. Have only just started to play around with it.

There should be other modules as well, doing the same.

Or try to turn Browser Privacy off in Norton.
