That block is already included in Xoops, you will find it in the blocks section, if it's not assigned then you need to select the no assigned option from the drop down:

admin ---> system admin ---> Blocks

In version 2.0.5 of XOOPS you will see a drop down box, by default it will select 'Registered Member' if this block has not been assigned you need to chose the '#unnassigned' option.

Then bassicly edit the block to show it on site as you would with any other block.

Tip: if you ever struggle finding a block you can always goto:

admin ---> system admin ---> groups

If you have a look down that page you will see all the blocks (they are links) as they would appear on xoops, left, center, right, if you find the block you want to edit then click it and you will be taken to the blocks admin so you can set it live.

I hope this is of help.

I look forward to seeing and testing any progress you make.

Although it is impossible to state a date are we talking months?

The new version of WFSections may or may not be our before but your answer to the XOOPS release date lays within another post.

xoops 2.1 release date

Quote:
All I can say about this is NO date has been set in any way whatsoever. Now let me make this as clear as I possibly can: please please please don't start asking about release dates now. Version 2.0.5 is just out, and if you read the wishlist (NOT a list of features that will be added in 2.1), you'll see that there is a lot of work still. XOOPS is quality software, and that is why many people choose XOOPS, this also means that the devs think the features over and through very very well, and quality takes time.

So, no more posts like this please, we'll announce it when we will release alpha's and beta's and RC's when the time is right

Herko

As I stated WFSections maybe out before 2.1 of xoops, but this varies on Catz work load as he's working hard on XOOPS along with other dedicated team members.

I'm sorry I can't offer further details.

Catz is very busy at the moment concentrating on Xoops, as you prob seen from the latest addition to the MYDownload module for XOOPS (With upload cap), but I do know there is a new and more advanced version coming with various modifications and tweaks.

I also believe WFSections will replace the default XOOPS sections, as WFSections shows the power of XOOPS on a much better level.

Here is the news article that was found at WFSections:

Quote:
Over the last month or so I have been working away on improving WF-Sections for XOOPS users, this new version is close to a release and I pleased with the result so far and I hope everyone who uses WF-Section will be the same.

Well the count is in for the poll and I pleased with the result and I would like to thank everyone who voted (Which everway you did ) and the result was overwhelming to say the least.

The good news is that WF-Section WILL be replacing the outdated Sections module as the number one article management module for XOOPS user and this will happen from XOOPS v2.1.0.

Again, I would like to thank everyone for their support over the last few months and to all, Happy Xoopsing

ATB

Catz

I should be able to get hold of Wf-Section v1.0.1, but personaly I would wait for the next version as I believe this version to have a few bugs in.

Hope this is of help.

Xoops-Dir/language/user.php

define('_US_INCORRECTLOGIN','Incorrect Login!');
define('_US_LOGGINGU','Thank you for logging in, %s.');

I've already discussed the following modules before with core developers but thought it worth posting here too.

A build on jerryj's post.

I like the idea of getting pop in the pm's box and sending smtp but you would need to be able to limit this feature by member and group, after all you don't three thousand members downloading 20 E-mails a day to your server, imagine the space you would need.

Private Messages:

+ Limit PM inbox size by groups
+ Drafts and sent items - sharing inbox size, or poss have different limits per group.
+ Outbox
+ Search all PM's
+ option to turn of PM's for groups
+ Notification via E-mail for new pm's

Notifications:

+ Option to receive notifications when ever one is set (As it is now)
+ Option to receive a sumerised version of notifications either by the day, week, or month. (instead of individualy)
+ Option in admin to set either of the above as default.

Edit Users.

+ option to disable/suspend user account.

NewBB (Core Module)

+ Quick reply
+ Option to delete post without deleting replies
+ Option to move Post to another thread, with out affecting the thread it was originaly in.

There are more but this is a start.

I would love to know if there are any plans or time scales for the above so I can feed them back when asked, please reply per new feature request.

Your forgiven on grounds of being Scottish, pmsl.

But on a more serious note, I have to agree with you, I run tons of different sections on some of my sites (One over 20+) and find it not only a waste of space, but also a pain in the back side having to scroll down to find the module I want, also this must pull more on server resources having to load the module icons every time. can;t these icons just be in that section for the admin, rather than down the side.

We're in the admin, I would personaly like to see a more of a text link approuch, and as for stats, this would be a excellent addition to all XOOPS sites, maybe include some of the following and possibly even graphical too.

+ Total hits per Day, week, month and year.
+ Total Unique hits per Day, week, month and year.
+ Most active users but groups (Access to find out how active all members are by search).
+ Most active times of the Day, week, Month and year.
+ Reffering links.
+ Leaving Links.
+ Most active sections/Modules again by day, week, month and year.

And I'm sure we could go on.

I'm with you on this Catz.

Tim
