The theme.html controls the placement, the style.css controls the colors, widths, etc. within the blocks that the theme.html lays out.

You can find more information on the XOOPS wiki for theme editing. You also have to change the settings in system, preferences, general to "update the theme.html" file. (And then change it back when you are done to not update as that will slow down performance if you leave it on).

Yep, you have it working right now, but unfortunately the content (as you are well aware) didn't turn out too well.

I am not sure how to correct that. Perhaps Chapi, who is the auther, can help you out. The file you are trying to display via Tinycontent is more complex than mine, which don't have any tables or columns or anything in them.

Perhaps you could try taking out the header information in the HTML file you are using and see if that helps. Sorry, I could not help more.

Yes, I went to your real site, not the one you posted to get the behavior I described.

You have to set up tinycontent to display something - typically an HTML file. So you create an HTML file and upload it into the tinycontent/content directory and then configure the module to point to that file. You can do this with multiple files.

Then when you click on the link to what you have created, tinycontent "wraps" the rest of your site around the file. Go to my sitehttp://linux-universe.com and then click any of the links in the footer (other than the creative commons one) and you will see how I use tinycontent.

I tried your site and put in ../modules/tinycontent/ for the URL, and Mozilla tried to load the directory a number of times, but then timed out with "redirection limit" reached.

When I tried the same on my site, it loaded up the lowest article/link-ID available under Tinycontent. Do you have any articles/content being served by the module yet?

Anything can be hacked.

I don't see anything wrong with your site, however. No defacements or anything. Have you fixed it or am I missing something because I don't speak/read French?

News
- Has a bug where when a person submits news, the Time of Expiration is set to 12/31/1969 instead of the current date.
- Ability to vote on stories as well as comments (moderation)
- The drop down boxes for both Time of Publication and Time of Expiration only go up until 2004. 2005 will be here sooner than we think!
- If you add multiple subtopics to a main topic, the subtopics are not alpha sorted and thus get out of order rather easily
- Ability to have expired articles pruned from the database or stored in a second database or some other way that can help limit growth of the primary database.
- Add a poll to a story
- A what's related block

NewBB
- Mark all read button
- Moderation/voting as above
- Mark all read button
- Subcategories for forums
- Mark all read button
- Friends/foes system or, what may be simpler - an "ignore this user" button/function
- Mark all read button
- Delete a post without losing all the sub posts
- Mark all read button
- Hide private forums except for those users that have access to it
- Mark all read button

Contact Us
- Ability to customize the form
- Check box for "I wish to be contacted on this issue"
- Checkboxes/drop down list for the topic of the message (general, site feedback, bug report, problem logging in, suggestion, etc.)

Oh, one more thing: Is it possible to get a mark all read function for the forums?

You can open it up and edit the contents manually. The file is pretty well commented and laid out so that you can see what is what.

Just don't forget to chmod it back (444) since the only time it needs to be written to is during the install.

Linuxtoday is at:

http://linuxtoday.com/backend/biglt.rss

You should have asked at a Linux site...maybe one you are a member of...maybe one that runs on XOOPS...

Hmm, which one could that be?

This is my wish list, some of which may be "core" and some are "modules".

1. Correcting the cache system and how it handles permissions. Also extending it so that stories can be cached and not have to hit the database/be generated on each read (similar to the mod_rewrite feature people were requestiong earlier).
2. Moderation system for comments, users and/or stories
3. Customization of the home page by registered users (MyYahoo type of functionality)
4. Cleaner/more functional admin area
5. Mark all read function for NewBB
6. Friend/foes system ala Slashdot
7. Improved avatar management (mass upload avatars in zip/gz)
8. Privacy feature for who's online block
9. More granular user permissions
10. LDAP integration
