Reading FAQS seldom helps decide what module to choose.

The best module for your purposes is weblinks. Get the latest version from Happy Linux. It's versatile and will fill all of your needs.

You'll also need the latest version of the Happy Linux module.

Thanks for the input, John and Zanda. Sorry for not replying sooner. Been away for a while doing some recon in Maryland and Virginia.

"not that I'm an expert on romance"

That's what my wife keeps saying. (Not about you, about me. )

"why are there two "Latest Articles" blocks, one centre-right and one on the right?"

That's a habit of mine. Instead of having a lot of ads on the columns, I try to let people know what's available on my site(s). I should probably set it up so that the block on the right doesn't appear on the home page, but I am too lazy.

"You thought of changing the fav-icon to match..."

Good idea, Z. Didn't even think of it, though I have modded the submenu to reflect the site's motif.

Where ya been, dude? I miss our weekly talks on Yahoo.

Legal Question: Site Names, URLs & Trademarks

Here's a good one.

I have a site called Big Woody's USA Trading Post. The url is bigwoody.us.

I recently received a letter from an Australian law firm telling me that their client tradingpost.com.au has sole claim to the name Trading Post and that I have 28 days to change the name of my site.

It's my contention that:

1. The Australian site does business basically within that continent.

2. My site deals exclusively with merchants within the USA.

3. While their site may be called "Trading Post," they have no right to the exclusive use of the word within a site's title. In my opinion, it would be tantamount to a website named Supermarket.com telling the local grocer that he can't call his place of business a supermarket anymore. Or Bookstores.com telling webmasters that no one can use the word "bookstore" in their site's titles anymore.

4. A quick Google search yields a nice crop of sites with Trading Post in the title.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

hello,

would someone take a quick peek at this site and let me know how it looks to anonymous viewers, please?

Quick note: The site isn't being set up as a dating site; there are plenty of great XOOPS sites that already offer that service. It's more of an informational e-zine for romantic advice, etc.

Still working on the forum, so you won't find much there.

Thanks!

Try this:https://xoops.org/modules/repository/singlefile.php?cid=43&lid=1524

If that's not what you're looking for, I've modified SmartFactory's smartsection module to handle recipe management. Let me know if you need it.

Hello Matand009,

You're probably a lot better off if you edit the theme.html file of the theme you're using on your site.

Global Comments Notifications?

Does anyone know of a module that allows global comments notification for XOOPS sites? I'm basically looking for something that recognizes all installed modules with comments. The module would allow site owners to pick and choose which modules they want to receieve notification from when a comment is posted rather than doing it on a per module or per article/link/post basis.

Great concept and an excellent site. Really nice, with a lot of work behind it.

You may want to consider submitting your post to the XOOPS News section under the YAX category. You'll get a lot more exposure.

Congratulations on a very useful site.

I have two versions available: one for XOOPS 2.0 and one for 2.2. Let me know where to email it and which one you want.
