Re: "no valid security token found in session" when posting comments.

I think I made a discovery: This is generally happening much more often with Firefox 1.5 than Internet Explorer (IE).

Re: Staying logged in

i just placed GI Joe's hack on my 2.2.3 site and it is working flawlessly. If you have trouble it is probably because of template's not updating.

"no valid security token found in session" when posting comments.

Does anyone have any advice for possible solutions to the "no valid security token found in session" error when posting comments. I thought the bug was for comments specific to a given module, but it turns out it's happening site-wide. My site also gets lots of invalid submission with CBB but at least CBB allows you to re-submit, so after re-submitting 5 or 6 times, it usually takes.

Am I the only one with this problem? There are a few posts regarding this message but not a whole lot of responses. I am unfamiliar with how the token security system works. The primary area now where people get this error is in the newest version of xcgal on XOOPS 2.2.3 Final. I didn't have this problem until I upgraded to 2.2.3 Final, though I am glad I did because it resolved other 2.2.x issues I was having.

Can anyone offer some advice? I've tried deleting all sessions from the dbase, updatings the system module, increasing and decreasing customer session time, turning customer sessions on/off, etc. to no effect.

This is killing my site.

Re: Upgrading from Wordpress ME to XPress

i figured out the answer to this question and am posting here in case someone else is looking for it.

upgrading from the ME module to XPress is not entirely seam less but it does work. Following XPress instructions, to just delete module files and upload Xpress, then update normally, mostly worked. There were a couple of database errors, but the module installed. Some of the admin panel functions did not take though, so this is what I did:

1. Make full site and database backup
2. Make individual Wordpress ME directory and database backup.
3. Upload Xpress directory and overwrite ME files (XPress says to delete the old directory before uploading but I don't think this is a good idea, given ME attaches files there.)
4. Go to System Admin and update module normally.
5. If no dbase errors, great! But I had dbase errors, so I had to do the following:

6. Export WP tables from mySQL to local.
7. Uninstall WP
8. Drop all WP tables (don't do this unless you know what you're doing).
9. Make fresh install of WP (you should get no errors now)
10. Drop all WP tables from mySQL again.
11. Run SQL query to re-create and upload your dbase copy from the faulty install (be sure not to confuse the two backups that you now have. . you should upload not the original ME backup, but the backup from the faulty install.

12. For me, at this point, everything was working normally.

PS. If you were using the XOOPS comments feature in Wordpress ME, then your site will have some fatal errors making call to comments that are no longer associated with XPress. I had to deal with this also, so if it happens to you, email me.

though it was a little painful, I think the move to the current XPress was worth it, given the fork directions of XOOPS and the old wordpress, as well as the enhanced functionality and eas of using plugins. .

Upgrading from Wordpress ME to XPress

Does anyone have experience changing from Wordpress ME in multiuser mode (NobuNobu's module) to the new XPress? I've been trying to find out whether it is possible to upgrade to XPress and not lose the posts created by multiple users.

I've read that it is a simple upgrade from ME to Xpress in single user mode, but what if I've been using it in multi-user mode? Can I migrate and still have all the blog posts?

thanks.

Re: When choosing Notifications I get "No valid security token found in session"

several folks including myself have been having problems with "no valid security token" on 2.2.3. Mine is pretty much with comments only. There has been no resolutions as far as I can tell from those who have posted.

You can try emptying the contents of your session table in phpMyAdmin. This will at least reset all sessions.

Re: latest cbb in xmbluext theme overlapping text problem

I figured out how to fix this: in modules/newbb/templates/newbb.css, play with adding a "line-height" parameter: probably normal or 125% will work. Depending on your specific problem, you may have too add this to several other classes . . .

Quote:

#index_forum span.item{
padding: 0px 5px 0px 5px;
margin: 0px;
border: 0px;
line-height: normal
}

latest cbb in xmbluext theme overlapping text problem

I'm trying to convert my site over to the recently release xmbluext theme, which actually requires extensive tweaking. newbb is giving me some problems with overlapping text that I'm wracking my brain on. This is the only module that is having the problem depicted in the picture below.

I've looked through the CSS in both the theme and the newbb folder, and have included the specific newbb css into the theme folder with no positive results.

Has anyone seen this before and have a suggestion as to the most likely solution. Very much appreciated in advance for your help. I would give you a link but the theme is only live for webmasters . . hence the photo. .

Re: appearance of broken gifs in main menu after using theme chooser

Thanks, Biter. I appreciate the help. I found this FAQ and followed it to resolve the problem:

https://xoops.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=533

Just in case anyone else has the problem. Basically, you delete the templates from the dbase and then rebuild them by updating the system module, and then every other module.

Back to normal now!
