Download the modules you want to use, then upload them on your server in the file : "modules"

After that, the modules will appears in your install page (http://www.yoursite.com/modules/system/admin.php?fct=modulesadmin&op=installlist)

For content module, i advice you xnews, news or forcontent.

To create your menus, mymenus looks simple.

I can help for french translation, testing and development ideas... but i won't be helpful on development :(

Here are some dvpt ideas :

=> Refresh the admin (not comprehensible) to make it more as an explorer with action icons :

* For categories, make a list of albums/subalbums, with some icons (in columns) on right side : rebuild (thumbs), edit, delete, rename,... Just add a link "add an album on top" (to hide/display add form)

* Photos : rebuild went to albums. Maintain batch (except if we can have a new app working to upload photo). List photos, as for albums, with or without photo (as for modules), with icon on right : edit (or directly have open fields to edit, like title and description)

* Permissions : There are too much... it's heavy to manage !

* Slideshow : hide options we do not use (after selecting the slideshow to use) + add a thumb of each slideshow on each admin part (to quickly see which options correspond to which slideshow)

=> On user side :

* add an option for display album representative/main picture randomly (new option to make the site more dynamic !) or with a choosen picture (as it exist now)

* Avoid tables with squarre borders that make like html page :) (or at least use border radius, shadow, or other effects)

I found the module "eNewsletter 3.1" (with ablue icon) which is an update of "evennews". I didn't see what were/was updated (exept the module icon) :
=> Admin pages are still on old templates
=> On user side, html code of the newsletter is not interpreted...
=> preferences : "use spaw editor" is wot working : yes or no, the editor always appears !

Does someone could advice me a working and functional module to send newsletter to members or/and subscribers ?

Tag is working fine. By updating translation, i discover where i can change technorati etc...

So i'm asking if we could change by defaut to this (language file : main)

I re install system module from xoops 2.5 archive

blocks for marquee module works again : it keeps data when editing

but i tried to clone a marquee module :
- preferences data in blocks are saved
- mid (module linked) is not save => go to customized blocks
- block doesn't display on website

By the way, regarding mymenus module, when i clone the block (there is only one by default) :
- data is not saved
- mid is not saved
- after editing the clone module to resave options (display = yes), i get a blank page on my entire site...

Tests on the modules you linked us (on XOOPS 2.5 - PHP 5.2) :

- lot of changes in language... I send you the utf8 french updated language by mail...
- Still missing the list of links in admin, to edit them. We now have to look for the link id to edit it... Quite heavy method to use !
- Admin home page : missing the first icon "Marquee management"

Mylinks

i can't see my marquee blocks but also get a lot of problems with mymenus since this weekend. I prefer not editing any block now :( !

After installing marquee and editing a block (marquee01), i discover that the block edited does not appear, and more over, when i look in the db :
- block "options" field changed to "array"
- name changed to "Bloc Personnalisé (HTML)" (= customized block)

I really get a serious problem with the block manager... so since i moved my php version to 5.35 and moved back to 5.2.17

Please help me, these blocks make me crazy!

Are those modules updated on xoops.org ? When we go in module repository, we always see publication date like 2008, 2009... so we do not really know if this is the last release...

I take for example marquee i just looked for and downloaded, first from module repository (i got an archive with files directly, without subloders modules/marquee = not recent :)) and then download from a link in your post on modules updated to test...
