Man; slow down a bit, and don't get me wrong.
Wouldn't it be good to design a few themes, offer for free, learn from..., analyse it, build a repu...then up to the second step.

If you are looking for a few people to test any for a few bucks per hr ,count me in ..
Just me thought that way.

Everything made by man is possible to remake.

I read something about short URL. Search for it!
And you can also try to hack XOOPS otherwise ! Lots and lots of work to remove ''/modules/'' in a few files rewrite many many path- ((this second choice could damage your brain !))

The idea of having your modules in one folder helps a lot to organise your webspace.

make a search for 'short url'

Thanks for the response guys, am still have to build one.. right now am just playing around on local and some thinking before launching myself in any.

The whole cbb-stuff is fine thou- I enjoy surfing around and I try to understand this whole xoo-world - again maybe with that maybe it would have been a big + + +.
I will certainly visit the xoopsforge and post them my trivial-suggestion -hope it is a worthy one

finally, I was just trying to find out how to replace that 'a' with an 'an' that I have in the title!

yeah you are right , that's it.
But some guys should consider not to post a too long message, - or perhaps give the admin the option to limit characters for the original post.

it only came to mind when i was reading and searching this forum here.
it would have been nice not o loose contact from the origianl post and i think it would have kept many same questions and demands from repeating a million times in different topics or even keep peoples from going off topic.

That is just a weird idea thou.

[edit added]

yes as you have said maybe just the first three lines ''and ending witha link to that original message in a pop up window.''

Guys I have an idea .
.
Here is my thought ...and if it was only possible to implement it.!!

On the msn groups forum when you start a topic, the message topic has a different background colour (yellow) and it is sticky on the top.
The replies that follows are or have a different background color (white in their case). The topic's main message is always on top and you are not lost about what is being discussed originally.
yes on the newbb or other forums you can have your replies in flat mod or threaded etc..
But you loose contact from the original message for discussion since the first message is threated only as a message..
Is there a way to have that original message in a different colour bg and keep it sticky on the top of the particular topic.
That would have been nice it was possible.

Oh great , thanks for the reply, it is a good option and you have a nice site.
But am getting old & gonna be very old soon, so no doc to pour in me head and that's why would prefer the other simple option if it was possible.
I will pop in tomorrow and check if any great looking guy or nice lady had mercy upon me.
I still have a vote to cast and decide which CMS is best , so guys and gals we make a deal!

Hi peoples,
please help a poor soul with no knowledge, in mysql..
I am trying to do a custom disclaimer page-- wrapped in that header+mainfile.hp and xoops-footer.
yes ! I can wrap the text in-between, the header footer as explained somewhere here, and that work great.(no i need no impressum-module, it is just onepage wrapped)

But please, I prefer to retrieve the text from the database and I don't have a clue how to-do that. ..getting down to books on a wednesday is not a good idea...

What would be that nice little code to request for the text of disclaimer to wrap in a custom php? I am dumb-in MySQL and would really have liked to do it this way rather than pasting the text in a php file.
... just wanna try something fancy. any help you have i would then consider you as ma best friend on this whole planet. If no help then i ain't be upset either..
