Hi, i just had an email from my hosts saying that a script i have is using up too much od the resources and they are going to boot me off if i dont fix it
iam using NewBB 2.0 version 2.02 (2.02)
they said that a script ..newbb/makepdf.php was using quite a huge chunk of resources
and they had renamed it to newbb/makepdf.php.disabled.
and for me to fix whatever..
"You may take steps to correct the problem. This must be done before the
seven (7) days are up. You will need to let the technician know the steps you
took to correct the issue and get approval before being returned to a
production server."
but if they have renamed the offending script..what steps can i take to make sure its not going to hog the usage
i dont want to be removed from the hosting ,is there a way i can actually remove the pdf option from the script?
any advice would be handy

hi again,swain can i just confirm that txt you have shown me above for the .htaccess will not block the search engine bots such as google/yahoo etc etc...and do u also have an example of what you put in the

just tried inserting your txt into the htaccess file and it gave my site a sevr error ..any ideas?

in the .htaccess file..exactly as its writtien above? or what changes do i have to do
also will this stop the bots like google yahoo etc etc because i rely on them for traffic and iwouldnt like to block myself from the search engines etc
ihave already added the guys ip range to the deny part of the .htaccess file so hope fully hes locked out
he uploaded a php file and then made a cmd to grab the db name username and password to the db, from there he altered the admin username and pass
i have installed the protecter module ,its pretty good at stopping any uploading to the site
i have to disable it though when i want to add downloads to my site ,or it wont let me..i turn it off to do the admin work then turn it on after ..bitof a pain when iam busy ,but if it stops them sending bad php files top gain access then i can live with it

my site got hacked ,and now i really need to update the security of it
iam running an older version of XOOPS XOOPS 2.0.9.2
i kinda got left behind during the updates and now iam afraid to update so many times incase i break something
the bas...erm people who hacked it got thru with using a nphp backdoor script as far as i know ,
and i guess can pretty much do it again untill i get it fixed
can anyone please give me any info on updating the security of the site up to the present level ?
i really would appreciate it
also, i have lots of older modules chucgging along in my xoops, if i do update the the latest version woudl that screw the modules up?
i hope somebody can help me with the questions i asked

my problem is, that when i first go to my site and login
everything appears ok but when i click togo to a registered users or admin area it says i dont have permission and takes me to the sign in page..after i sign in for a second time ,it appears to be ok and i can navigate the site accordingly ,but if i leave the site it wont keep me logged in and i have to do the same thing when i visit again the next time
other members of my site have reported the same problem
have you any ideas on a fix for this ?
not sure if it is any relevence but i recently had to move the entire site to a new server
