NEWS 1.2 FINAL PROBLEM

Hey Everyone,

I have a quick question regarding the New News Module. I just installed it, I renamed my old module, and then uploaded the new module. For some reason it's not displaying my news. The module is recognizing my db, because it has all my news pages, and recognizes all my topics, and in the admin area, all my articles are there - if I click on them, they show up perfectly fine. But for some reason it won't display the article summaries/index pages (or it shows the pages, because all the blocks are there, but it doesn't show the article). I set the permissions so that everyone can view the articles. I have the feeling I'm missing a setting somewhere. What am I missing?

it works on my 2.07 site -http://www.eclipsemagazine.com , but it broke my news commenting section (even in 2.06), so I'm going to have to remove it at some point. I still like the concept of it, and hope an improved version can be implimented in the next version of Xoops.

eZplotz Hack Problems

Has anyone had a problem with the eZplotz hack breaking
the news commenting system? If you go to my website
http://www.eclipsemagazine.com you'll notice the news commenting system is broken. This is a problem with the hack.

From what I can tell, when you click the post comment button it's looking for the old url pattern and not
recognizing the new one, so it's coming back as "story not found" and in most cases it's not even displaying the post comment button. Anyone have a fix for this?

eXploz URL Hack - FANTASTIC!!

The eXploz Hack is awesome!!! I just installed it, and it does everything that I've been looking for in a URL Hack. Not only does it do a fantastic job of headline information to the title tags, but it also puts the headlines in the URL, and creates real names for the Topic IDs. It does all of this without breaking and invalidating current and old URL paths! This is a hack that should definitely be part of the new core.

well in that case, consider the discussion started :) Although now that the mail users function is working properly (I think), I'm happy. It would be nice to add a removal and subscribe process to it, and a automically send headlines and/or complete html page would be nice.

Listserve functionality would be cool as well.
