However,

IMHO it would be the best PR for XOOPS if xoops.org were also a little bit more 'design'(whatever that may be) and a little less 'default'.
I know there are some threads in the forums about this issue, but if we want to score higher next year in the Open Source CMS Award, I think the design of this site should be a subject of thought.

So far for my 2cts.

EDIT:
It should be relatively easy to make a small showcase with screenshots on the frontpage of xoops?

Greetz,

JMorris' coffee-infusion is too wide open (again), but nevertheless he's right!

I stick with the default editor, like in this forum, for a while.....
(Understand why XOOPS.org uses it )

Hello,

Downloaded TinyEditor 1.00 and the patch for News 1.44 from dev.xoops.org.

Now I can choose Tiny editor in News settings, but when I want to update the database I get a blank News admin screen, so I can't confirm anything. Same goed when I try to update the module.

I'm running:
-XOOPS 2.0.15 + new form.php + editors and Frameworks (latest versions)
-smartfaq 1.04
-news 1.44
-multimenu 1.82
-newbb 1.12 (3.07 won't run till now)
-liaise 1.26
-wf-section 2.06
-wf-links 1.03b
-piCal 0.89
-wf-channel 1.07
-xc gal 2.03

Server:
-Apache 1.3.34
-PHP 4.4.0
-MySQL 4.0.15

Think I'm gonna put back my backup, and keep my hands of wysiwyg for a few weeks. Gives me nothing but trouble.

Does someone have clue what I did wrong?

Thx in advance & greetings,

Well McDonald, I copied and pasted the code in your reply in /modules/news/include/functions.php.
Koivi editor works!!
Spaw, HTMLarea and FCK still don't.
I checked:
path to FCK should be
/class/xoopseditor/FCKeditor/formfckeditor.php
instead of
/class/xoopseditor/fckeditor/formfckeditor.php

That helped for the FCK editor.

I dont't have the spaw editor in the xoopseditor directory. Same for HTML area.
And what about tinyeditor that is mentined in the functions.php?

Are these editors seperate downloads?

But I'm satisfied for now, I can offer 'clients' a nice looking (and working) editor).

Thx and greetings,

EDIT!!
Just playing around and found out that I can select FCK, and it appears, but I can't type text in the fields, so that doesn't help much.
I select Koivi for default for this moment, that works.....

Wow, that's quite an impressive answer, McD!!
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to answer me; i'll put it on my xoops-things-to-do list for this weekend, and let you know how things went!

Thx and grtz,

Howdy,

I could not post news in News 1.44, because there was no text area.
I selected another editor, and that worked fine.
BUT: only DHTML and standard XOOPS editor work. With the other editors I don't get a text area.

I run X 2.0.15, with modified form.php, AND the latest versions of frameworks and editors...

Did I miss something?

Thx & grtz,

I've had exactly the same problem !!!!
You have to update the module, then the blocks appear again, unfortunately with the default charcter lengt of 25 chars....

But at least they appear again.
I asked the dev of this (otherwise) great module. You can change the default value in the file called /xoops/modules/news/xoops_version.php
find and modify 25 in this two lines :

published|10|25|0|0|0|0||1|||||| and in

counter|10|25|0|0|0|0||1||||||

then don't forget to update the module.

That should do the trick, at least: it did for me!!

Suc6 and greetz,
