Thanks for answering, but actually, this doesn't work. What is happening is that I have a brand new XOOPS database, with no content other than mine (in other words, no user content) and so the information in the user profile that states how much they've participated (posts, comments, etc.) has to be updated for each and every person before it allows them to log in.

My question is this. What field/fields in the user database keeps track of this information? I think it would be much easier updating this through mySQL rather than XOOPS itself.

Thanks!

I had problems with a site that I had taken to 2.2 and then downgraded to 2.0.14. It basically broke the site.

So, because it was my own site, and I had a back up of the old database so that I could transfer my content fairly easily, I went ahead and did a completely new install with version 2.0.15. And I've been slowly piecing it back together.

I thought that it would be a fairly simple process to bring my users over from the old site to the new one. However, I'm having problems with some of the old users logging back into the site. And I'm having to sychronize their postings, etc. before they can log in.

Any ideas on how to do this painlessly on more than 1100 users without having to do each one?

Thanks!

Peekay - Thanks for replying. Two things:

1. Could you post your URL? I'd like to see what you've done, if I may.

2. Could you give me a little advice please on how to set up the Paypal params? I don't have a problem changing the matrix.php to reflect my listings, but don't quite know what you mean about the Paypal params. I'm assuming this is actually in the Paypal buttons.

Thanks!

MadFish - VERY NICE! Could you please give me some pointers on how you changed the default three columns to one column? Thanks!

I know that this module is still in RC stage, but does anyone have it all set up and working on their site? Could you send me that URL so I can see what you're doing with it?

Also, does anyone have it set up for "paid" listings yet? If so, how have you implemented them?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, Steve. I was trying to find where the information is duplicated. I will work on cleaning that file up today and see how it goes. And yes, I WILL backup before I do so.

I appreciate all the help!

I have a problem with the latest upgrade. Things went smoothly and the site appears to be running well except for the System Preferences. In that screen, every option is duplicated. Please see this screenshot.

Any ideas on what I can do? It makes it troublesome because I have to make sure that the settings are set properly in both duplicate fields or the option doesn't work.

This site was one that I had originally upgrade to 2.2 and then downgraded using the downgrade. Then, since the downgrade didn't work well, I'm having to rebuild content. However, since I have almost 1200 users, I don't want to have to rebuild the entire site if possible.

Any comments/suggestions are welcome.

Need suggestions on multiple Xoops

I have a new client and I am building them a XOOPS website. This client is a publisher of family magazines and has three different local magazines. Much of the magazine content is duplicated between the three magazines.

I would like to build them a site that will allow them to have four XOOPS installations that share some of the modules. Is this possible - or am I dreaming?

My thought is this. First, the publisher website. Then, off of that, there will be three magazine websites that will share SmartSection, Forums, and maybe one other module (still thinking this through). Other modules that they will NOT share would be a directory for advertisers, stats, etc. The URL structure would be:

magazine.com
county1.magazine.com
county2.magazine.com
county3.magazine.com

Is this possible? Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks for any input and advice. BTW - I have my own dedicated server that I will house these websites on, so I can do most anything server wise.

No, I don't use a custom theme. And, unforunately, what you suggested did not work. Thankfully, once I upgraded to the new MultiMenu, I was still able to see the menus that I had already created in admin. I printed them out, and then uninstalled and did a new installation of MultiMenu. Then it was a breeze to reset up the menus I had already created.

I'm not 100% sure, but it appeared that new tables were not created for menus 9-16. When I uninstalled MultiMenu, it told me it couldn't uninstall those tables (9-16). I checked, they weren't there. When I did a new install, it created those tables.

Thanks!
