Due to an update of my site to XOOPS version 2.0.7, some mod_rewrite tricks don't work anymore :-/ Hope the issue gets fixed soon...

Poll hack: show poll results in a block on start page

Hi everyone!

Some time ago Kubaz hacked the xoopspoll module so that the poll results (instead of the poll questions) would show if anyone had already voted on a poll.

I added a new block to his hack. The block allows you to directly show the poll results. This means you can show the results of your polls at your start page from now on

Starting from Kubaz' hack, I changed these files:

xoops_version.php:
- made new entries under "blocks"

blocks/xoopspoll.php:
- made new b_xoopspoll_results() function
- sprintf hack for better display percentages

language/english/modinfo.php:
- new entry for results block name

Hi everybody!

Since XOOPS 2.0.7, marcan's wonderful group rights hack has been implemented for the search page. This means that modules that are not open to some users can't be searched by those users anymore.

Still one little thing remeans: at the bottom of the search page you find the search form. There you see checkboxes for different modules. XOOPS always shows all modules that have a search function. Is it possible to restrict this to the groups users have rights to?

The file with the search form is searchform.php.

Here's an example:
http://www.sint-niklaas.be/search.php

In the list you see "Blog", although anonymous users don't have rights to this module.

Hi to all xdirectory fans!

I found a very easy fix to the search problem in xdirectory. Builderb mentions that with the 'new' search code you can only view the category names and not the name of the business when you search the module.

This trick fixes the problem:

In include/search.inc.php on line 36 move the "c.title" part to the beginning of the sql string (just after the word SELECT that is).

Now you'll see the name of the business instead of the name of the category in search.

Nice to see someone thinking of web accessibility for sight-impaired people! We tried this on our sitehttp://www.sint-niklaas.be but admittedly we still have some work to do.

To check if your site is section 508 compliant, just use Webaim's WAVE:
http://www.wave.webaim.org/

They even have a toolbar and a bookmarklet so you can check any page any time you want!

Hi everybody!

I'm trying to get the title hack to work in wfchannel, but to no success (yet). Has anyone got this working yet?

I tried to edit the index.php file in the module root directory. I'm trying to display the "pagetitle" record which can be found in the xoops_wfschannel table:

I added this around line 29:
list($pagetitle)=$xoopsDB->fetchRow($pagedetails);


and this around line 282:
$xoopsTpl->assign('xoops_pagetitle', $myts->makeTboxData4Show($pagetitle));


Any help would be welcome
