Ronaldus, please do not spread false accusations.

Shine was NOT banned because she mentioned another project. Her account was deactivated because she refused to accept our Terms of Use, and decided to leave XOOPS.

After she posted her message with the link, we've edited it and went the extra mile to notify her about it with a polite email. As several other people responded earlier to your other thread, this is a standard procedure on other boards as well, that links to competing products/projects are edited.

Again: nobody was EVER banned for one-off posting of a link to another project.

And Shine is welcome back any time, assuming that she accepts XOOPS Terms of Use, as the rest of us on this Website.

I had a similar problem today, i.e. I could login (i.e. my login was accepted), the system thanked me for login, but then it went right back to the login screen.

My problem is that I wanted to extend the time of a session to 60 minutes. In the Options it is being said:

Maximum duration of session idle time in minutes (Valid only when 'use custom session' is enabled. Works only when you are using PHP4.2.0 or later.)

So I enabled the "Custom Session", and I guess, that's where the problems started.

I used phpMyAdmin and changed it the value back to "No", and now it's working again.

I'm not sure if this helps, but you might check the value on your installation.

Also, somebody suggested to empty the session table, see here:

We're working on an update of modules - it's coming soon!

But the best way is always to check the authors Website, because sometimes we are not aware of a new version being out.

Quote:
I have understould /heard that XOOPS is one of the CMS's that makes it really easy to customize websites from scratch. With standard CSS (stylesheets), HTML (that everybody knows) and easy to use CMS-coding to implement into XOOPS (its far more intuitive then cms's like Drupal, Bitweaver, Joomla, e107 and SPIP). Is that so?

We definitely believe so!

The News module can do most of it.

I am not sure, if it can take the article off the spotlight after certain time.

But you can have the articles in the side block as "Recent Articles", and it will put them in Archive as "expired article" on a date specified by you.
