imagemagick is something that must be installed on the server for it to work

something much easier to use, is NetPBM, you just unzip the files, upload them to your server somewhere, and chmod to 755 (the folder and the files)... it's easy to use, works great

checkhttp://gallery.menalto.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewsdownload&sid=9 << for all your Gallery-related needs

btw, they have imagemagick there, if you'd still like to install it, but again, it's simpler to just use netpbm (although installing ImageMagick on a webserver then makes it available to the whole server, which is useful if you have multiple sites running Gallery)

catz, aren't you the one (or one of the main guys) working on the download module?

if you are, a buddy of mine sent me a couple of small lines of code, when implemented, they make it pretty much impossible to determine the origin/location of any download (the code hides remote *or* local file urls the same way), he uses it in several php-nuke modules that he has written, but it's regular php, not CMS-specific

if you are interested in the code, pm me and i'll find it for you (in my ICQ archives somewhere, lol)

i'm not sure if you already have something similar already in place for the Downloads module, but if not, this may help

http://www.fatalexception.us/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=6 << their site is back up, that's the download category which contains the Fatalquery module

also, any form of port would be great, as long as it works

i'll also stay true to my word, if you devs get it working, i'll host whatever ya need (especially since it's the XOOPS devs, maybe hosting could be my way to give back, lol)

you're prolly gonna be outta luck with most CMS's, cus from what i've seen, XOOPS v1.xx might possibly work with php4.0.6, but wasn't very good imho(that's why i didn't go with XOOPS when i was originally looking for a CMS), phpnuke has too many security issues and bugs, but once you apply ALL the patches, it might be worth trying to see if it works with php 4.0.6

nsnnuke is a much nicer branch of phpnuke, more security-oriented, better interface, etc, but is still in beta-phase

http://opensourcecms.com/ << look here, demos of tons of different cms's, test them out, find some that you like, and check with the developers of that cms for 4.0.6 support

or you could wait and see if the XOOPS dev have a suggestion for you, cus if you can get a version of xoop2 to run on php4.0.6, that would be the best way to go

why does it only support 4.0.6? heck, even Plesk (server administration tool) supports newer versions of PHP than 4.0.6...

have you tried requesting that they upgrade the php version? they might be willing to do that...
