You also have to confirm this, the database might not be on the host webserver (as I experienced with a webhost recently), so using LOCALHOST will not work.

Check with your webhost and ask them for the hostname of their mySQL server.

For example, I was helping someone install their XOOPS and had the same problem you describe. Instead of "LOCALHOST", I discovered the mySQL database is located on mySQL.iserve.co.nz

Search and install the Multimenu module. It has menu/submenu with group permissions.

I would suggest using a menu module like Multimenu 1.5 to do that. It's a lot more versatile.

I just want to report I did something silly tonight...

I threw all caution into the wind and performed two version upgrades (but not before I did a backup of my site).

2.0.6 to 2.0.7 -> went without a flaw (WHOOHOOO!!!)

2.0.7 to 2.0.9.2 -> I read this thread with trepidations, I noted all the murphys so backed up my database and downloaded my custom templates (just to be sure).

Anyway - it all went perfectly without a hitch or a bump. I'm back cooking with gas!!!!!

Meh.. I just make a guest book forum and allow for anonymous post. That way I can reply to each visitor.

Gidday Widget

I'm using the multi-menu module to list the channel pages on my site.

Just download it from the XOOPS module repository.

Any other question just post here or pm me.
