Re: What version of PHP are you using? Dropping PHP 5.3 support!

I'm currently using 5.5.29.
Forward is always the preferred direction. But it's tough to give up some of the older mods w/o replacements that are production ready.

Re: Error : Unable to connect to database - I look for a developer.

Details are needed.
What version of xoops?
what version of php?
What version mysql?
What modules are installed?
What are your php settings for url_fopen, globals, and memory/time limits?

Re: CloudFlare use?

xoobaru Thanks for the reply.
I was looking at performance.
Got a reseller's account and I've decided not to do the CF. I have system resources that need re-arranged. Much is reserved for future accounts. I have plans on maybe 2 more domains so the rest of the system should be able to be re-allocated to "my" account.
We'll see how it works out.

I agree with your Cloud assessment. Handing site security over to strangers has never been something I felt good about.
The downsides are obvious, but the thought of multiplying my capacity is tempting.

I block TOR users offhand. I have never had any honest traffic from a TOR node.

Re: how to recover files from formatted USB drive??

Updating the "FreeUndelete" link. It gets a lot of traffic apparently:
Free Undelete

Re: MyAlbum - sort categories

Would the "Recent Downloads" block as used in TDMDownloads have something you could use?
It sounds like something similar to what's wanted.

Ok. I'll report back any issues I encounter.
Thanks.

CloudFlare use?

Recently fired Arvixe and got rid of EIG for good.
My new host is A2, and everything is working like clockwork.
My question is, who here has experience using CloudFlare services with XOOPS?

Is there anything I need to think about before I give it a try other than the obvious backup everything including momma's car?

I personally am aware of no issues, but I was thinking Mamba may have experience with this.

Thanks.

Re: The future of XOOPS?

Quote:

Also, regarding modules: once Eduardo integrates Common Utilities into Core, his modules will be available as "native modules", and we might use them as the "official modules" (with appropriate function to import data from existing modules), or convert existing modules to the new GUI standard, or mix of both. One way or the other, we should end up with some very cool looking modules!

Anxiously waiting on this. I really like the look and feel of the bXpress forum module, but installing a framework for a single module isn't what I feel is the ideal way to go. I will fiddle with NewBB until 2.6 and the integrated Common Utilities are ready.

Where is the latest stable NewBB hosted?

Help in locating the latest stable version of NewBB would be deeply appreciated.
This should also be a clue that a centralized repository is needed on "this" site for stable releases.
