I don't know why, but Profiles will not install for me.

I get the following error:

"Unable to install profiles. Error(s):
You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COMMENT='Xoops Profiles Module'' at line"

I use XOOPS 2.2.4 / PHP 4.3.11

I am in the process of changing an existing website over to Xoops, and was wondering the best way\module to display Members details by region.

The existing sitehttp://www.samb.co.uk/localbaker.htm uses a Map ( which I will use in Xoops) that points to the members in that area. What module can display members details by region (category) – Not all members have website details, so address details and possible company summary would be good – Members DO NOT need to amend their own details, I am happy to do this for them

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to everyone who replied

I thought I would try the setup offered in
http://www.devside.net/web/server/free/suite

And in less in 45 minutes, I had my XOOPS Intranet running on an Windows XP Pro PC!

I know nothing about Apache, MySql etc and this installation was fully automatic. - I would highly recommended it, for a novice like me.

I am one happy bunny

Thanks for your reply.

My main problem is lack of knowledge on how to setup PHP and MySQL.

I was looking at the product on this website:

http://www.devside.net/web/server/free/suite

But was unsure if this was my easiest option?

I have been using XOOPS for a few months now and love it :) - So much so I now want to build my Company Intranet using it, but I want to host it in-house.

Can anyone tell me what is the easiest way for me to build a dedicated server for this.

Should it be on a Linux Server or Windows Box, and are there any packages available to make it easier, as my Linux \ PHP \ MySQL knowledge is very limited.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

CCB 3.1 Notification Options - missing !

I recently installed CCB 3.1 Forum Module, but the "Notification Options" are missing for Registered Users, but are visible to Webmasters!

I presume this is something simple, but I cannot see what settings differ in the profiles to cause this?( all other Modules Notification Settings are visible to registered users)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have setup a new XOOPS 2.2.4 site and I am having trouble with users having to login twice. I have modified the “mainfile.php” for the site address to include "www", but still the error is there.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I should try next ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Scary - you posted just as I was just about to go and download wfchannel, as I saw it being used in a few sites But never thought of looking at xoops.org

I will give a go.

Thanks
