I have setup a new XOOPS 2.2.4 site and I am having trouble with users having to login twice. I have modified the “mainfile.php” for the site address to include "www", but still the error is there.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I should try next ?

I am having the same problem. I have been watching to see if anyone replied with a real fix. I have found a workaround that hides the problem for my users. I have went into the control panel my hosting providers has and setup a redirect to redirecthttp://domain-name.com/ tohttp://domain-name.com/index.php. I found this solution by accident. I had logged in twice and was doing some work when I accidentally hit log out. I could log right back in without needing to do it twice. With farther testing, I notice that the web address washttp://domain-name.com/index.php after log out instead ofhttp://domain-name.com/ when I had the twice login problem. Not a real fix, but it will make your users happy.

Did you use fantastico to install xoops?

I have found Fantastico seems to cause this problem. I just install it manually now, and it works PERFECT. Just backup you database, backup all your themes, and backup all your modules, then do a manual install, install your modules, upload your themes, then restore the old database, and it should be fixed.
