There is also the WF Download module, recently overhauled by SmartFactory.

Haven't tried Invision Power File Manager 1.0.1 - but they also have a great rep. Is it fully integrated with XOOPs?

I'll have to check it out.

Yeah, xmail has some "limitations"

SmartFactory and Ampersand Design are in the process of developing a powerful new module, SmartMail, that will be capable of handling a list of your size.

There's a separate thread on the features and such.

Target release date is Aug.

What modules are you having trouble with?

1. Check if they are compatible with your XOOPs version. If so...

2. Delete those module directories from your server and reupload. Perhaps the files have gotten corrupted.

Unlikely that another module would prevent them from displaying in Admin. Any conflicts would become apparent only during or after you have installed the new modules.

There are probably many ways to pull this off.

Depends on your specific needs.

But one method will be to have Excel "save as web page"

Then you can use something like TinyContent, TInyD, SmartSection, any module that allows "pagewrap" - to display your HTML in your XOOPs site.

Be warned though, that the Excel HTML will not be all that clean - MS hard codes alot of CSS formatting. You might want to get rid of it and use the standard XOOPS css - .even, .odd, etc.

Have you looked at the FileManager module for FTP?

Does a nice job. Might have to make some minor hacks to allow access to only specific directories.

Check out SmartSection from SmartFactory.ca

I believe it has the category/acticle level group control capabilities you need - at least as far as publishing text based content with article based images.

You might look into XCgal for image gallery handling. Pretty flexible. Also has good "group" permissions for specific categories.

I agree. SmartFAQ is the best.

Perhaps you should contact SmartFactory.ca and see if they are close to getting a version of SmartFAQ that works with 2.2.4

The first XOOPs site you build will be the hardest. But once you get it done, in hindsite you'll realize it was not really that bad.

One of the challenging parts I find is selecting the appropriate modules for what you want to do on your site.

The standard XOOPS package is pretty capable, but there are many many ways to expand its functionality.

The nice thing is that there are many good modules on this site to choose from. They are easy to install, test, and remove if necessary. So play and explore.

On this site you will also find many many helpful people who will walk you through any difficulty you might run into.

Browse the forums and faq's. Chances are most of your questions have been asked and answered already.

And if you get stuck - don't be afraid to ask "stupid questions" - most all of us were beginners once and will be happy to point you in the right direction.
