Re: Any Way to recover a dead site?

I have NO idea what it needs edited. The mainfile.php died and I have no backup, so it's IMPOSSIBLE for me to retrieve data that way. Unless you know of a generic mainfile.php that I can use that will have the requisite information for me to edit.

Re: Any Way to recover a dead site?

Well, I tried to reinstall XOOPS using the same database, but obviously I know not what I am doing, this is what I get:

Connection to database server is OK.
Database opteron_xoop1 exists and connectable.
Tables for XOOPS2 already exist in your database.

Ok, now what? PLEEEEASE ideas folks. I don't have a problem rebuilding the site, but I *must* save that data. It does mean a lot to me.

Re: Any Way to recover a dead site?

Are we talking the MySQL database? I can't log into the site at all.

The "mainfile.php" file is corrupted, and to get the backup, I gotta shell out cash (sigh) but if there's a way for me to download the SQL file or use it on a NEW installation of XOOPS to recover news posts, etc I would LOVE to do it that way. I could care less about the content at this point (Downloads, etc)

Otherwise, the rest of the site is in pristine shape as far as I can tell.

Any Way to recover a dead site?

I'm resolved with the fact that my site is dead, but I would desperately hope that there's a way to rescue the data that was once in it, even if the mainfile.php file is now missing / corrupt.

Is there a way to get it?

Re: Emergency Help - Unable to log in to Admin Account

Jesus H Christ, the Mainfile.php disappeared. My host won't reply, and I can't use the site at all now. Jesus... I'm a nervous wreck.

Emergency Help - Unable to log in to Admin Account

I updated the site recently (within the last few days) and my damned host says there's nothing wrong (Surpass Sucks by the way - and I've been with them for a few years, stay the feck away)

I get to the site fine and all, but when I go to log in with my ADMINISTRATOR account, the damned thing just loops back to the login page. I've tried different browsers (IE and Firefox) and clearing cache/cookies, proxy server, etc. NOTHING is working. How is it that the site would suddenly stop allowing something to work?

I spent 3 hours on a project, and now I'm up shiz's creek. What the hell happened?

FYI - this is the "PG" version of the Email I wrote my host. I'm beyond pissed.

News Post Problem

I did a search on the forums for this, but I'm convinced I'm either not able to search right, or it's not been covered recently.

I installed XOOPS for the first time on a new domain (manually) and everything is working, but the Admin account (haven't tried others) can't post news. I have access to the module, but when I choose anything other than the Preferences option, nothing shows up. It just keeps looping back to the same page with the three choices (General Configuration, Topics Manager, Post/Edit Articles).

Those three are all that I get, and General Config is the only one that works.

Page Banner URL

I have a problem with my site that in the upper left corner (in this case, where the... erm... gerbil is wearing a firehat) has an embedded URL - the URL is incorrect. Where can I find to change it? I've looked in PHP files, as well as CSS, and even in the admin panel. I'm missing it. Anyone know?
