So making sure that something fits everyones needs is slowing down the Internet and dumbing down code? Here is a news flash for you, the majority of the people on the Internet are still using 800x600 and are still on dialup. I think you need to check your facts before making a statement like that.

If you want better themes then I suggest you learn how to do them yourself. There are plenty of resources out there to help you learn.

I have a news flash for YOU... if people had this mentality we'd all still be using betamax because "the majority" were using it.

The only clever thing is the flash... other than that, little I've not seen on better XOOPS themes...

Can you point me to those themes? Perhaps I'm just not seeing them...

Bad example in my opinion

What would be good? That theme to me is colorful and catches the eye. Not the bland and monotone like the one I'm looking at now. Again.. that's MY opinion. In either case, there seems to be only one "type" of style here with xoops. You may like the plain ones, but some like the kind I referenced above, can't we do both?

Doesn't display well with anything less than 1024x768, In my opinion a theme is only a good theme if it displays well in any browser at any resolution.

You could learn how to design themes yourself and then submit them to the community, instead of commenting on the lack of themes that you like.

If you take a look at the FAQ section of this site and the Links section of my site, you'll find every resource you'll need to get you well on your way.

I anticipated this kind of response. At the end of the day, XOOPS is releasing a product. I'm simply saying that it's a shame that this wonderful code can only be displayed so few "styles".

Why can't we get cool themes like this?

Xoops is such a great cms, but the themes are so limited. No spice, plain jane, css only, default themes. For the most part. There are the occasional exceptions. The XOOPS development team needs to hire a graphics designer. Just my opinion.

I have tweaked the montisarts halo 2 theme just a bit for the site. Let me know what you think.

If you look at my site on the homepage you will see the spotlight module front and center. However, you will not see anything that looks like a "mini spotlight" though I have edited the template provided under "mini spotlight" in the admin section. It's like I can see the backend, but not what it makes on the front end. Has anyone got the news ticker to work?

BornSlacker.com has gone through some changes over the last few months. We have changed the layout of our homepage and added a few useful modules. BornSlacker.com is the home of "Team Slacker". For the gamers out there we play BF2 and Ravenshield. We have integrated an existing php script that queries our RVS server and utilized the google module to display something like this on our site. As soon as BF2 comes out I plan to see if I can work out something for that as well.

I would greatly appreciate any comments/suggestions you can provide.

Thanks

I don't know if this would be "module troubleshooting" or "module request".

Is it possible to make it so that when people have mail in their inbox under the webmailfx module that there could be some indication in the user menu like there is with the private mesages?

Am I not making any sense to anybody or are the admins just ignoring me completely?
