The IUSR account will need modify access to mainfile.php during the installation process. Once XOOPS has been installed, you can revert to the read/list permissions.
Yes it is possible to navigate back to the forum & post but thats not the issue. I just logged into this site when I was browsing this thread & once I logged in, I was redirected to this thread which is what is supposed to happen.

Cheers Jools
File permissions on a Windows based server must be done via the Windows Explorer & can not be modified via FTP or Frontpage. Some web hosts will provide a control panel that will allow you to change permissions.
I looked at it & it looks nice (although all in german ) but it appears that the site has crashed.... registered, got my email, activated my account & now can not access the site.
Just to give you a little more info --- this error is reproducable on servers running IIS 4, 5, 5.1 & 6. I am using PHP 4.3.3 and MySQL 4.017 with the latest & greatest version of Xoops.
We have an test environment that matches our production site in every detail so if you want / need someplace to test changes, please feel free to let either Brashquido or myself know & we'll provide you with whatever assistance we can.
