I agree with the themes part of the last post, if anything put a dampener on my initial response when I first installed XOOPS was the dull boring box grey theme that is the standard instalation. When I started to use it on the other hand I loved itand still do. But how many people are put off when they first look at the standard instalation and go UUuurrrghh no thats not what I'm looking for at all.

I think the standard theme needs to have a bit more Pazzaz about it, a little more wow factor going on. Get them impressed and wanting to get in there and use it straight away.

Im currently using XOOPS 2.0.9.2 and would like to install the auto login hack. The thing is I don't use the login block, instead I have the following code in my theme template leaving the space free for other blocks:
<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
            <
tr
              <
td valign="baseline"> <{if $xoops_isuser}>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Welcome Back&nbsp;<a href="<{$xoops_url}>/user.php"><{$xoops_uname}></a
                <{else}>
<
form action="<{$xoops_url}>/user.php" method="post">
                  <
div align="right"><span class="navtext">Name: </span
                    <
input type="text" name="uname" class="navinput" size="12" />
                    <
span class="navtext"Pass: </span
                    <
input type="password" name="pass" class="navinput" size="12" />
                    <
input type="hidden" name="op" value="login" />
                    <
input type="submit" value="login" class="button" />
                    &
nbsp;&nbsp;
                    <
input type="checkbox" name="rememberme" value="On" class="formButton" />
                    &
nbsp;Remember Me? &nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="<{$xoops_url}>/user.php#lost">Lost
                    Password
?</a> | <a href="<{$xoops_url}>/register.php">Register!</a>&nbsp;&nbsp
                  </
div>
                </
form>
                <{/if}></
td>
            </
tr>
          </
table></td>

        </
tr>

Would I need to make any changes to the above code for this hack to work? If so what would need altering and to what?

Any help as allways would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Does it link to a web cam page or display a webcam page?

If it displays one, can't it be used with something like tincam

Or maybe you could setup a cam page that is just wrapped by xoops.

If it is a linked one, you could also set up a webcam page which is wrapped by xoops, and then link that page with the webcam module. so that you can display various cams on your site.

Just a thought.

I think that the coders are more concerened with a well put together module, and time is better spent squashing bugs than language packs, and seeing as the majority of the web is in english and it's probably the worlds most spoken language per country (and i dont mean a chineese one thats spoken by 4 billion people but only in that region of china lol )then it makes sense to write it in that language first. The module writers do an excelent job and I for one thank them for all the work they put in for free. If someone else has to go and translate it for a lesser used language then so be it. But hey I've been in the same boat with some french, german and chineese modules. At least me translating it takes less time than writing the actual module.

Try using WF-Downloads instead.

It has a better permission system so that you can set different permissions for each download category.

Also it has an upload feature that wmp dosn't have. wmp will only allow users to link to a download (leech) from another site.

Anyone?

Everything seems to work fine using WF-Downloads.

No problems there when downloading zip files through IE, just in my Newbb2 :(

Seems to be an Internet Explorer thing as the files work fine in Firefox. I can download and extract them fine.

Anyone else having this problem with IE? As most of my visitors use IE, I really need it working with IE. I can just tell them all to get Firefox or not use my site now can I lol

I have created a folder called newbb in my uploads and given it 777 permissions. checked my forum admin and it had the uploads set for uploads/forum so I changed it to uploads/newbb.

I then went to a post and added a file.

I then clicked on the file in the post and now it's asking me if I want to download the file dl_attachment.php hmmm now thats certainly not right.

Anyone know what the problem is there?

If I use ftp and check the contents of the uploads/newbb folder, the file is there (renamed by xoops) and if I use ftp to transfare it back to my pc, I can open it no problem.

The files in the folder have -rw-r--r-- permissions
