Hi YourHelp,
Thank you for your help. :) I like the WF modules a lot. They are very professional. But I am striving to create a user friendlier admin panel. Something that even my parents could figure out. Now that's a challenge! *ha,ha*

Basically I have been using the news module with Spaw but always wished I could get an article image that you would upload while creating the article. Kind of like you would do when creating an image. I like the fact of having an HTML editor but it's difficult to get users to post their articles so that images are the right sizes etc. etc.

The Soapbox module is great because it offers this ability. You can edit the templates and make it lok just the way you want.

Now, if I were to make a web site for myself I would probably go with the WF-sections.

Thanks anyhow!

Thomas

Thank you sbkiller,
I can't seem to find Spaw in my module? I downloaded the latest version of Soapbox here:

download

but that package didn't come with Spaw.

I have Spaw with the news module but can't figure out how to integrate the two.

If you have a more current version of Soapbox with Spaw, could you please e-mail it to me?

My e-mail alias is: webmaster

and the domain for my e-mail is: flagstaffbiking.org

By the way, I had a look at your web site and I like the design a lot!

I also found out about the wiwi module and I installed it to see what it does. I REALLY like the HTML area but couldn't figure out how to manage articles in the admin side? For some reason I can manage the articles in the user side???

Strange...

Anyhow, now I am leaning more towards using the HTML area in Sopbox. If I could manage to do this my world would be perfect! :)

Please let me know if you think of any solutions.

Thank you,

Thomas

I am trying to find information on how to include the Spaw editor in SoapBox. Does anyone know where I could find it?

I found a link a while back that claimed the mod. but the link was outdated.

Please inform if you know. :)

Thank you!

Hello,
This is an interesting topic. I'm currently working on a site for a basketball team. I looked at this module and thought it may be a good place start out with converting scores to basketball specific.

I will let everyone know if I am having any success. :)

Thanks!

display proper HTML in block from MySQL updated by SPAW

Hello,
I did post my problem in the Q & A section of this XOOPS forum but I'm afraid I haven't got any responses. Maybe the Q & A was the wrong secion since my question is a little bit more specific. So I'm trying here instead and want to expand on the explanation a little:

Here it goes:

I have modified the newsblock to show the intro text (DB: alias hometext) instead of just the title...

I am using the Spaw editor and have used some HTML tags in my intro text. Unfortunately the nesblock doesn't display these as they should. Instead it's displayed as code with tags. I.e This is a news item that is very <STRONG>important</STRONG>!

The reason for this seems to be how Smarty handles the retrival of the MySQL content...(I think?) Because instead of using the < and > it uses the ascii equvailent that posts the content to the blocks wrong.

How can I change this? It seems like the db content is read fine in the article section of the news module. So if I can just figure out how to change the blocks to do this I will be rock and rolling.

Thanks in advance!

Thomas

ANY SKILLED XOOPSTERS OUT THERE?

darn it, I was hoping someone would be able to help me with this... I'l give it another go with this subject. If all fails I will have to come up with a more intereting subject and a new thread...

Meanwhile I will of course try to solve this problem myself. It's weekend after all so maybe that'll give me some time.

sylvainb,
Thanks for your reply. I will check out the MS-Weather 1.4. I went ahead and installed XP-weather in the meantime. I like the fact that the weather images are stored on your own server rather then relying on yahoo images. This way you can even customize your images. The thing I like about MS-Weather is that it's more simple...but then again you can't have user specific weather. But the XP-weather module DB data is pretty extensive. Keep up the good work. :) Thank you very much!

I am facing the same problem. The weather block works fine on localhost but when I upload it to the server the current conditions don't come up at all. Where would I set the connection port to yahoo?
