Speaking of multisite hack:

Does anyone know if the multisite hack OR the multix module work? If so, will they allow me to do what I am attempting?

Nevermind. with a slight modification I got the theme changer module to work, but the login doesn't work right on masked re-direct URLs. So that doesn't solve my problem

I STILL need to figure out a way to run 3 sites on one user database.

I'm going to try creating a database just for the user parts of the sites. I just have a feeling that will screw everything else up.

However, I think the theme changer might come in handy later.

Actually, if the theme changer module worked I could do it all with ONE installation and I wouldn't have a problem.

Download the forum here:
https://xoops.org/modules/repository/visit.php?cid=20&lid=1540

Unzip, upload to your modules directory, go to Admin/system/modules. Install it. Create some categories and forums, comfigure some permissions, and there ya go.

That looks totally microsoft to me. I want to do it on Linux with mySQL. I could be missing something since 99% of the documentation is in French.

Actually, they can log in to them all seperately, as long as their one registration logs them in to them all.

Okay, I read the "How can i share tables between sites with MySQL?" That's not what I want.

What I am trying to do is have several independant XOOPS sites with ONE user database. I want all the features on the sites to be independant except for the user data, cookies and logins. So, if someone registers on one site they are registered on all 4. If they log in to one they are logged on to them all.

Is there any way to do this? I know it sounds crazy, but it would help me a bunch.

P.S.- This user database is almost 10,000 people with 10-15 new users per day. I just don't want them to have to register seperately for each of the sites.

Also, Peekay is right. You would want the PageWrap module.
