builderb,

In any upcoming version, can I recommend new fields for:

1. an extra address line for business with long adresses, something like "address line1 / address line 2"

2. a new field for "Country" useful for me as I have readers in Japan as well as other countries. I could also imagine it would be useful for sites that have readership in the European Union.

Also my friend and I are almost finished with the japanese language files. I'll post here to tell everyone when they're finished. Maybe next week. If you can incorporatethe new fileds in an update before then, we'll put the changes in the language files.

I know that wjue is porting phpESP to xoops. He's gone into beta testing for it, and renamed it E-Mark Survey X. If you go to his web site I think he's still looking for beta testers so maybe you can get a hold of a copy that way.

I went through the english language files AND the email templates and picked up a few more of the "links" occurences and replaced them (when appropriate) with the word listing(s).

How can I get the new files to you?

well to be honest the idea of trying to create a glossary that would be big enough to rival Webster's online dictionary is a pretty daunting task, what is it now, about 2 million words in the English language?

thanks for the idea tho'

ahh,

not so much for that purpose. I have a budding elearning site and I wanted to give my english students a convenient little block where they could type in unknown words and get results in a pop-up window or something.

but thanks anyway.

has anyone ever seen a module that taps into the numerous online dictionaries to provide word meaning lookups; Dictionaries like Websters online, or the cia factbook?

I could probably cobble something together myself, but I thought I'd check to see if soemthing was already around.

Fantastic!!!

This is exactly what I was looking for!. The hack works as advertised. I've had it on my site for a couple of hours now and it switches back and forth (Japanese / English) flawlessly.

One warning, it also changes the administration interface language according to the selection made in the user interface block. But this is great!

phpESP for XOOPS?

I was wondering if we could start a discussion about bringing phpESP to XOOPS. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to have this.

I'm a newbie-nobody in terms of module creation, but I'll do everything I can to help anyone who wants to take the lead. It would help me tremendously in terms of my module-making learning. And it would be a real coup if XOOPS were the first to bring this software into its CMS fold.

One thing I notice tho' is that phpESP is distributed under the BSD license, will that make trouble for us GPL types?
