Hi all

As the title says I have started a new site and am trying to use the ExNews theme. I have used the default theme that comes with 2.0.16 to try to figure out how to get the lower blocks to work with ExNews.

I have read a few post about this issue in general and have come very close to accomplishing the upgrade. However, after many hours, I just cant get the bottom blocks to show up in the correct area.

To show what I am talking about, go to montgomerycountymonitor.com

user name: testuser
Password: tester

You will notice two blocks in the center block area once you log in ( News Topic Block, and Recent News Block). With the default theme the blocks display correctly. News topic block is bottom center and Recent News block is Bottom left.

However once you change to the ExNews theme the recent news block takes up the whole center column. I have gone through the code several times and I guess I just don't have the experience or knowledge to determine what the issue is.

If anyone has time to take a look I definately would appreciate it.

Thanks for the help

Coppermine Upgrade 1.4.10 Problems with stats after upgrade.

Hi all :)

Not for sure this is the right area for this question.

I know that there are some xoopsters using coppermine bridged with xoops.

I have been doing it myself for nearly a year now.

I recently upgraded from 1.4.4 to 1.4.10 and everything seemed to work properly. I have however found one issue.

I have already posted the issue in the coppermine forums

see the post here

Is anyone else having the same issues. I ran the update.php to make the appropriate changes in the DB. All other areas of the upgrade seem to work fine.

Let me know if any have had any issues or if you have made the upgrade and not had any issues.

Thanks

Hi affee

You probably have figured this out by now, but you are goint to have to manually try to mimic you XOOPS theme within coppermine. The bridge does not transfer your theme settings to coppermine.

Hiya Bat

Are you still currently working on this module?

I am starting some research on the possibility of making a simple real estate site when I came across this posting and this module.

I really like your attempt to integrate google maps into this module.

Even without the map ability this module looks like it does all the basics.

Can anyone tell me what module this is or was derived from?

Is it possible to get the latest version?

I have sent you a pm Batevaldi if you still frequent this site.

Thanks

Hi Dave.

I have still not solved this issue. It is hard to figure out what percentage of users have this issue. A guess is 10-20% on my site running 2.2.3 final.

Typically if I delete the entry in both tables for these registrations and when I ask the person to register again, it works.

I hate not knowing though really how many people may be having a issue that I know nothing about.

Also, it seems that only a few are posting with this issue. So i infer that most are not having this issue? or are they not aware that they have an issue?

As Dave says any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Bump

I still have not been able to figure this out. I have tried the modules home page and here as well...as well as tinkering with all the settings in the module.

I am sure it is something I dont understand or am just doing wrong.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Hi Guys :)

Found a bit more info on this issue. Was doing a test registration. I filled in the information on the initial registration screen. I then hit the button to move on to the next step. The page came up with all the info I had typed in the initial registration page. However on this page i noticed i had typed in my email incorrectly. I then hit the back button to correct the error. I corrected the error and tried to register. It would not allow me to register.

Trying to go back and correct an error during registration seems to cause the 1969 entry to appear under join date. I then deleted this entry manually from the DB... I could not do it through xoops.

After the manual deletion I could then register fine.

So it seems that this problem is caused by making a mistake on the initial registration screen and not realizing the mistake until the summary screen. If you then try to correct the error you can't.

Can someone duplicate this please and then someone much smarter than I am can maybe suggest a code fix?

Thanks

How to play a .wav/mp3 on banner mouseover?

Hi all.

I searched for this topic but could not find anything.

Does anyone have any hints, ideas or solutions for making a wav/mp3 file play when a user places their cursor on the XOOPS banner ad area.

I have a short wav that I would like to play upon mouseover of certain XOOPS ad banners. I found some html code on the internet to allow me to do this but since I am using XOOPS and not just a straight up html webpage I could not get it to work.

I would appreciate anyone who could point me in the right direction or actually give me a solution to this issue.

I am using XOOPS 2.2.3 final and am using the built in banner ad system.

Thanks

Hi Fusion

Thanks for the reply

I have updated my banner since your reply by making an animated gif.

If you know the advantages of using flash over something like animated gif, could you please elaborate? I still dont quite have a good understanding of what areas you would want to use flash over animated gifs.

Thanks
foz
