Dear All,

I am looking through the system module folder for familiar statements of the form xoopstpl->assign... for the template variable xoops_isadmin, but could not find anything (search all the modules/system folder with no success).

Could you please let me know where these statements are?

Thanks,
George

Dear All,

Where does the $this->db database reference in kernel/user.php is initiated? There is no Database::getInstance call within the file.

I am trying to pull information from another database and would like to know the link so that I can include the file (already created in include/common.php, but then it would not recognise the name of the object even if I include include/common.php in kernel/user.php).

Thanks,
George

Dear All,

When looking at the code of modules, some parts of the code refer to the database as xoopsDB (which I pressume is the one set in incluce/common.php) and other times I see this->$db.

Are they both references to the database? if yes, is one form preferrable to the other? Also, where can I find information about where this->$db is set?

Thanks,
George

Page Navigation for XOOPS blocks

Dear All,

Is there a way for having this feature enabled for all blocks? The recent links block, for example, does not provide it. I can play around with the pagenav class but the block functions return a $block array, don't they?

Is there a way that this can be done?

Thanks,
George

Up near the top you will see: MODULE FOR YOUR START PAGE..
Set that to whatever module you want and then set up your blocks.

hth,

That is correct, but what if I want to display is not the index page of the module? For example, when you want to display a certain category of the forum or the results of a certain poll?

Hi All,

A couple of questions regarding XOOPS:

i) Is there a way that you can have the results of a module file inserted into your XOOPS page (for instance the results of the index page of xfguetsbook module in the main page). I tried creating a custom block and then having an include in there (include(XOOPS_ROOT_PATH . '...') but it included the whole page in the centre block. Anyone tried to do that before?

ii) I need to create a page that will have some of the blocks on the left side of the page and some of the blocks that my XOOPS page has on the right. What files do I need to edit to achieve that?

Thanks,
George

Dear All,

When browsing the albums (or using the random picture feature of xoopsgallery), the image loads up in the center block without "respecting" its size as set by the template. It displays the image at its full width and height, messing up the template. How can I fix that?

Thanks,
George

How can I enable page navigation for weblinks (no child categories)?

Dear All,

I want to enable navigation when the user selects to view one category of my weblinks by using the viewcat.php. The category in question does not have any other subcategories and my understanding is that I should be using the page_navi.php class in the class folder of weblinks. My reading of the code, however, is that only if you have subcategories this should be possible.

Could somebody advice me on how to proceed please?

Thanks,
George

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Ok, I understand that byt my question is. I want viewcat.php to appear as a block rather than as a module page that I can invoke by typing its name at the command line. Is that possible?

Thanks,
George
