That is correct, I changed headlinerenderer to allow for that with the use of iconv (let me know if you need the code). However, I can not find the file class/xhld_snoopy.php - is this a patch or an update? My version of xhld is 2.92, running on XOOPS 2.0.18 with PHP 5.2.9 and MySQL 5.01 - the apache version is 2.2.8 and it is a dedicated server (OpenSuse 11.0) so please let me know if there are any further tests I can perform.

George

XoopsPoll update failing in 2.0.18

Dear All,

I installed XoopsPoll versions 1.0 and 1.2 (not together), but just to check the problem was not a version issue.

I can create a poll fine, but when I try to edit it, the indivindual options are messed up (show in wrong order, not showing and so on).

I did some research in the code and I believe the problem is with the group[] grouping in the html code. If you print the sql generated for the update of the poll, you get something along the lines of: update xoops_poll_option set ... where option_id=value and that value is the same across all sql statements.

I had to finish some other coding and did not get a chance to look at it closer, but if you have a solution or a pointer as to what I might try, I would be grateful.

Regards,
George

Could you give us a link to your website?

Sure, have a look athttp://www.n-d.seflshop.org.uk/ndphotos/ (it is the section with the photos, fixed some stuff manually so that the site is readable). This section was fine on the previous server, but now it appears illegible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated (apologies for the late reply, was 3am UK time when you posted the last reply).

George

Could it be the character set? The XML in the source looks valid.

Edit: it is valid here:

I fully agree that it is a valid feed, however XOOPS would not accept it. I have got other feeds working with the same encoding, so I tempted to believe it is not an encoding issue. What else could I check?

What do you mean works? If you type it in the address bar, yes it works fine. But, if you try the headline to xhld, I get an XmlParse error on XOOPS 2.0.18. If you are so kind as to attach a screenshot of the xhld entry for this link, I would be grateful.

As for the database, I tried to alter table definitions by setting charset to greek and collation to greek_bin_ci, but it didn't work. It is a major issue, as I need to restore forum posts and other descriptions (e.g. photo titles) so I need to fix it soon. Any suggestions are most welcome.

George

Dear All,

I am trying to fetch the feed fromhttp://www.sofiatimes.com/index2.php?option=com_rss&feed=RSS1.0&no_html=1 but the module keeps coming back with an XMLParse Error: Empty Document.

Does anyone have an idea as to what might be wrong? I have dealt with xml files so far for headlines, but I have no idea what might be causing the error this time.

George

Could somebody possibly shed some light on this one? It is really frightening not knowing whether your database would be restored correctly due to unknown issues.

Dear All,

Is there a way to embed HTML tags in block titles? I tried the following in class/xoops_block.php in XOOPS 2.0.18 but did not work:

create an instance of the text sanitizer module and call it myts
title => $myts->nl2Br($xobject->getVar('title')) as well as title => $myts->makeTBoxData4Show($xobject->getVar('title'))

Regards,
George

Hi,

Many thanks again for replying so promptly. I am not sure what you mean with HTTP_ACCEPT_CHARSET - is it HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE? If yes, it is en-gb,en;q=0.5.

I do not have greek as the main XOOPS language, but my settings in /languages/english/global.php are ISO-8859-7, el and 0 for mutli-bytes.

There is no XOOPS_DB_CHARSET, though, in mainfile.php, unless you are referring to something else.

You are absolutely right about the character set and collation variables.

Regards,
George

Hi,

Thanks for the prompt reply. It is XOOPS 2.0.18.1 and by as usual I mean back-up and restore through phpMyAdmin and editing the mainfile.php file to reflect the changes in URL and server paths (I just put as usual, because I have done it so many times).
MySQL is 5.1.31 and PHP is 5.2.8.

Let me know if you need any further details.

Regards,
George
