Hi,

I am trying out XOOPS & Softcomplex Javascript Menubuilder v1.0.3 for the first time and I cant figure out how to insert the menu. [Xoops v.2.0.7.3 is installed on a local server Apache/MySQL/php v4.3.9 /v5

I made a test menu with the following files saved:

menu.js
menu_tpl.js
menu_items.js
menu.css
index.html

The index.html test file works fine in the browser. How do I insert the menu in XOOPS theme.html [for example somewhere in the top next to the XOOPS menu in the default theme.]

I am no good in PHP and Javascripts so please elaborate.

When you install a module in the modules folder just make sure the folder which contains the files is one level after modules folder.

for example: C:\....\htdocs\www\xoops\html\modules\shop

I think the folder that contains the OSC files is named 'shop'. So only this folder which contains all the files should be copied/moved to the modules folder.

I think its built into the core xoops. Just look it up in Admin/blocks or Admin/modules

The simplest solution would be to use WF Channel module. You can create/edit pages with text and image and then add it under *WF Channel in main menu as sub menu links.

[*This is the default name for the module that appears in the main menu but you can change it to anything....For example MyWebPages. To change it go to Admin/Modules and replace the default text under the module.]

I think it would be better to host separate sub-domain sites for different schools. All these sub-domains can be created from a single hosting account. Each sub-site will have a separate XOOPS with the modules.

Your main school site can have certain modules for content common to all schools.

There are some obvious dis-advantages in this method: more administration tasks, requires separate registrations, etc but the advantage is you can delegate the sites admin and content development to separate teams in a more secure manner.
