Doh! That was pretty simple once I saw it. It even says that "0" is to hide it. *slaps self on head* Thanks!

TinyContent 1.5 - Main Menu Reference

I have TinyContent 1.5 running my static start page and nothing more. I renamed the module to "Welcome" so it would make better sense for users over on the main menu.

My question is whether I can remove the reference to the TinyContent module from the main menu. It's doesn't make sense to have a link to "Home" and a link to "Welcome" doing the same thing on the main menu.

Is there some way to manipulate the main menu items that I just haven't found? Thanks in advance.

Never mind. I found where to comment it out. Just what I needed, although I would like to be able to turn it on and off in admin rather than resort to .php editing. Oh well. It's a great module!

Central USA here.

it-hq said it loaded in 1.2 seconds, but my watch told me I didn't see the first page for over 3 secs.

brashquido said it loaded in .8 seconds but I didn't see the first page for over 5 seconds.

Just my observations, nothing more.

I really love FreeContent 3.0, and I intend to use the heck out of it, but one thing that is bothering me is that there doesn't seem to be a way to disable the function where users can add URL's to the Webdigest.

It might be a great thing for many sites, but I don't really want it in the one I am developing at the moment. If there isn't a way to disable it from the admin area, how do I get rid of it for good?

A couple of simple WF-Channel questions

Just started working with WF-Channel (1.03 I think it is) and have a couple of questions.

First, the readme says to copy "uploader.php" from the WF-channel class directory to the root XOOPS class directory. That's all well and good except I cannot find uploader.php anywhere in the zip, or in the folder that was extracted. I found an "upload.php" in the Admin directory but I don't know if that's the same or not. Anyone know what's up with this and where I can find that "uploader.php" file?

Second, how do I disable the "refer a friend" and "link to us" links? I can't seem to find where to do that in any of the admin areas. I simply don't want those options turned on in everything I do.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know if this helps or not, but I have noticed that once in a while a checkbox or two becomes mysteriously unchecked in the Groups area. I know they were checked before but then suddenly aren't. It happened in 2.0.5 and happened again just as I upgraded to 2.0.6, but hasn't happened since the upgrade.

You might check the groups area. I have found that to be a source of a few of my problems, mostly in 2.0.5, though.

Go to Admin --> Preferences and change your start module to News. It's about six rows down from the top or so.

Before I started Xoopsing, I used 4images standalone and was very happy with that. I never could get XoopsGallery to work. I never could get it to recognize where ImageMagick or netPBM were located, no matter what I did, even with my hosting service trying to help.

I'm using xcGallery now, which installed flawlessly and ran well from the get-go, and it seems to be pretty smooth so far. My users are happy with it and report no problems. But if I ever have any problems with it I will probably go back to a standalone like 4images, or whatever else might be around at the time that works well.

I'd be happy to join the Documentation Team, and do what I can to help. I planned on writing a FAQ for core modules for my users anyway (and, believe me, they have a LOT of questions to answer, lol), as well as one for xcGallery and any other add-on module I decided to use. I suppose the FAQ would carry over to XOOPS in general, and would benefit other end users (the core modules work pretty much the same for everyone).

I think it would be really great to have a downloadable FAQ that would cover the core modules for end users to a site, so they have something to refer to when they log on for the first time. Maybe bundle it up with the full install or something, too. I think any administrator would welcome that. It's just one less thing they would have to do.

This would be a good opportunity for me to give back to the XOOPS community and to help it keep growing. It's the least I could do. XOOPS was a godsend when I found it. Shoot me an email if you think I could be of help.
