Re: Torrent Module ????

There is allready a sollution for XOOPS, Nuke, Joomla/Jambo whatever u want it. It's called Torrent Trader lite, cos it's not required database, no user registration, etc. etc. U can simply add it as IFrame to your XOOPS, few friends of mine, allready do it in this way.

Also there is a one abandoned XOOPS Torrent Tracker, compatible with old good XOOPS 2.0.7.3, if u wanna risk your server, I will try to find it in my archive and share it to you, but I think security is on first place for everyone, than is the speed, and features are on the last. So in that way, Torrent Trader Lite works almost perfect :)

Re: Submenu's in TinyContent

Never used it, probably to created a separated block for the content such as main menu, but I allways on my sites, use Solo's multiMenu except 2.2.3a (on this not work).

Re: Submenu's in TinyContent

Why should not try with Solo's multiMenu 1.75 (if u're with xoops.org 2.0.13.2, 1.74 if u're not :))

And if u're using 2.2.3a core, this can be done with the module, called Content.

Re: Howto - converting "add on's" to Xoops ?

Quote:
Xoops-->E-Xoops/RunCMS -->Ciamos
it's not something like founding something new, XOOPS as u say and mean 1.3, is fully compatible with e-xoops/runcms and few conversions to ciamos, cos ciamos is based on RunCMS, with replaced xoops_root to system_root, and adding few big troubles in the core, with the main developers can handle it :)

If XOOPS was still in the 1.3 core, it will be easy to create convertor such this one, but after 2.0.5 and ading Smarty templates, XOOPS makes (in 10% incompatible with all other CMS, such as Mambo (which still dont have module update/upgrade feature) :)

Nuke is awfull, PostNuke is good, but not enough to say cute...

So as I learn from another forum community, XOOPS in time years ago, was forked version of myPHPNuke (do u rember this ugly try to make an CMS), which is foked from PHPNuke.

First incompatibility comes between this two forks, and finaly after 2.0.5 release of XOOPS.

Eg. the older modules, currently compatible with RunCMS, with a little hacking can be converted to XOOPS 2.0/2.2, but I dont seen a point for such action.

Nuke modules are more than impossible to be converted, since un/officialy stoping of support of 7.7/7.8 and 7.9 by the most powerfull and professional community NukeScripts.NET (all forks are based on 7.6 such as Evolution Nuke or Platinium Nuke).

PostNuke, now with 0.7.6.1 takes separately way even from the allready dead eNvolution CMS, and dying trying MD-Pro. PostNuke currently is the only one CMS application with few modules, with possibilities to pick alternative such as XOOPS.

Mambo is look good, in some areas that are not very important for the end users, the important areas are missing from it, so show me at least one module, component for mambo wich is better than XOOPS modules, I'm using both of them from years, the only one module which is still in Mambo, but not in XOOPS is SMF (my guys are stuck with the code, Mith is on the same way too).

All others are almost the same to me, exept the framework Xaraya.

So if u wish to be really helpfull, better takeover and improve Kian's Lang Tool (online realtime translation module for XOOPS 2.0.x) instead of creating such converters.

This is just an suggestion and mine point of view... (no offence)

Re: Best Module for Product Pages

GiJoe's myalbum-p 2.90 can do this task perfectly, it's gallery module, with posibilities of unlimited sub categories, plus cloning of the module and a lot more.

I've got similar task, to build and maintain Virtual Expo on homesite of Chamber of Commerce & Industry - Pazardjik (Bulgaria), site uses Marc Andre SmartLanguage hack, so it will be possible to u, to see the begining at least :)

Re: Static HTML Module that can handle Javascript, Applets, etc.

Try with French iContent 4.6http://www.vivihome.net/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?cid=5&lid=20 - Mith, module update again, sorry.

It works for me, with few changes (on 4.5) for Intranet site.

In that way every module, support that feature :)

But if u try to make an album which have to be accessible, read/write only by special group, that's another way :)

If u wanna create an gallery (part of module to be accessible only by particullar group of users, such as cloned Registered group to let's say it Special), best way is to clone myAlbum-p 2.90(2.86 Alpha) - Mithrandir, update modules reporsitory please.

Second and more easy way to do it, is like installing two different galleries, such as RM+Soft Gallery and MyAlbum 2.90 and XOOPS Gallery 1.3.x.x. (Latest is 1.3.3.7).

RM+Soft Gallery (good module, but not sure about English language, is it provided or not) -http://www.xoops-mexico.net/ (currently moving to XOOPS 2.2.3a, so if u wanna link to the archive, I can upload it somewhre and share it with u.
