Amazingly I beat you...because normally I move at the speed of thick mud mixed with peanut butter uphill during a flood in the opposite direction.

Just change the group permissions for everyone but the group that you want to see the block (ie. guest users, or as XOOPS calls them 'Anonymous').

Even better....change his password and log in as him and tell everyone about why he is lame. It is the only thing that makes being a webmaster fun.

Just delete him. That is what I would do.

Update on my progress:

Well I had to change the path to XOOPS as well and that seemed to do the trick. It got me a blank page rather than a page of code. Now I know why. When they moved my database, they installed something from forever ago.

So I reinstalled a back up from about 7 days ago. No data is different so there isn't a big deal with the 7 day time difference. And....

....it works. :) Thanks for the help ackbarr.

Yeah, that had actually just popped in my head just before I read this haha. I just noticed there were no users, so I'll have to go make some users and edit somethings. Thanks for the help. Hopefully that will put me on the path to fixing this thing, rather than screaming at the monitor like in that commercial.

A friend of mine went to my site yesterday and discovered something rather intresting: it didn't work. Yep, XOOPS isn't connecting to the database any more because my host switched all their stuff from Ensim to cpanel and ruined the connection apparently. So, being the Xoops/Jedi Master that I am, I have no idea what to do. I went to the mainfile to chance the database path and that didn't work so I think I'll have to try something else.

Original db name: domainname_com_-_site
new db name: domainname_com

Just in case you have any ideas. Well that is why today stinks. Maybe it will get better. Hopefully. Now on to attack on my website.

You'd think he could have atleast been original enough to call it 'myphpxoopsnukedgeekloginvisionboardbb'.

My updated list

-More Group permissions. For instance, I would like to make only some groups have the ability upload an avatar. I'm starting to get used to features in Invision Board which is why I am suggesting more forum ability. Also, it would be nice to be able to keep a mod from adding categories or forum sections. Adding more forum ability is turning into a must have for me and many others I am sure. It is the main reason I wanted to use the invision board module (which doesn't want to work now because it hates me in a vicious way). More abilities would be good to have in the forum. Taglines would be nice too. The ability to put a tagline in under your rank is what I mean, and give the admin the ability to state the character limit.

-IP recording in a log file or something that the admin can view. Have it include the username and ip address in the log file. This would help when some doorknob* comes to the site and acts like a pain and causes someone to complain.

*used to G rate myself in case small children or muppets are viewing this thread
