I set permissions, but it still doesn't allow editing. Once again, I am feeling like the membership module is worthless. Also, more often than not these days I am getting this error in version 2.0.16 = [an error occurred while processing this directive]

Anyone else seeing that?

So THAT'S what the membership module is for. I've had it installed for awhile, but have never used it.

Is there a way to allow users to change their usernames?

Hey, thanks. I am going to send out an email to all users to login and change their usernames as soon as the new site is up. I extended the variables in the database and user.php for uname and it works. I just want them to be able to log in to the new system the first time the way they are used to logging in. Then I'm allowing them to change their usernames if they don't want their emails to be visible. Once again, thanks.

I am importing 9000 users from another non-xoops site to xoops.

People are currently registered with their emails as usernames. I just did a test import of the users. Some of the email addresses are too long to be used as login names. I changed the maximum username setting, but still the same problem.

Example:
webmaster@delnortesales.com
got cut down to:
webmaster@delnortesales.c

What can I do?

The multi-site mod/ hack works, but the administration doesn't . I have 2 sites bridged with it. Also, registration only works on the parent site so I am working on a pop-up registration hack that I will apply to all of the sites.

Hopefully with a module.... I tried spotlight but it only displays the short text, and only for news. I need it to work for news, headlines and forums. Headlines isn't as important as news and forums.
