Indeed. Do you know what version they use, and if they've hacked their mail_users file? That might be something to ask them.

One way to do that would be to change the theme.html file to allow a larger banner size and center it, and then remove the regular logo. That would allow you to easily change the header banner as if it was an ad banner.

As I understand it, there's no hack necessary. The banner feature already supports Flash. You might have to check the "use HTML" box when you're setting up the banner. I'm not sure of the exact HTML syntax you would use, but I'm sure you can get it working without a lot of fuss.

Thank you! I feel better knowing this is a known problem that affects most XOOPS users.

The nature of my site requires that I e-mail users weekly. Let's hope this gets fixed in the near future!

Could you provide a link, please? I've searched but found nothing. Strangely, Google points me here. Is it possible the module has been removed from the downloads section?

When I try to send mail to my registered members who accept notification, it loads the first page with the first 100 users on it just fine. Then I click the next button, and I get a blank page. This problem only started happening since I upgraded to 2.0.6.

When it first happened, I was using Safari in OS X, and I thought it might be a browser-related bug. So I sent another mail in IE, but the same thing happened.

I know the logical next step is to turn on PHP Debug and see what happens at the blank page, but I really don't want to turn off my users by sending repeated e-mails. Is there a way to find out what's wrong without sending another mass e-mail?

Is it possible that one of my users has an invalid or expired e-mail address, and that's crashing the whole process? That's the only explanation I can come up with.

Thanks!

The only problem now is the configuration of MyAds in the admin pages (it will not update even though I set the permissions in the config-file to 777). For the time being I solve this by updating the config-file manually.

You might try fixing that by going to Admin > System > Modules and clicking the "Update" button for MyAds. Sometimes that fixes things like that for me.

I'm not getting all those PHP errors, but I'm having similar trouble posting any ads. My problem is that after submitting an ad, it says "You can add an advertisement after navigating to the categories." But I already did that!

I think the module needs a little bit of a makeover before it's ready for the masses.

This thread contains a hack that supposedly fixes this problem. I've used the hack myself, and it seems to work, but I'd like to see the issue addressed in the next version of XOOPS.

Hope that helps!

That would be a nice feature for the next version of News. You've got my vote!
