One thing I noticed: When copying the modules folder straight across to a second test site, the fmcontent module caused a white screen in the module install admin area. It calls for the included contents of the xoops_lib folder, so if anyone else has that problem, be sure you have that folder (included in the original download) uploaded to your XOOPS directory.

So far I have tested out 17 of the updated modules, and they are all working fine.

I LOVE seeing debug with ZERO errors. Once again, GREAT work.

I have been out of the loop for awhile, but... After setting up a site and checking over all of this amazing work that has been done recently... I AM IN AWE. XOOPS and all the modules are working like never before. Much respect. I can't wait to try more. You all rock. THANK YOU!

Using the SVN of xoopsheadlines on Xoops 2.5.5 - Trying to use this feed and nothing shows:https://www.facebook.com/feeds/page.php?format=rss20&id=162378977151678

Any idea of how I could get it to display?

Hi Mamba! Long time no see. I need to update the sanctuary site... I think it is still running on 2.0.16.2 or something. I have been way out of the loop but I would really love to help in any way I can. It would be great to see something like this happen. I think being able to pipe facebook fan page posts into the forums would be a real way to liven things up. I know our sanctuary page on facebook has over 1000 people, and it is very active, but the main site has been sitting there with 42 members for so long... The last time anyone posted was 2010. I would love to be able to plug in the shelter code reds and the other cross-posting pages too. Then tell everyone on all the networks how to do it. They all have their own sites, but everyone is so caught up with twitter and facebook they seldom use them to post. If their sites automatically updated with those posts from those "corporate" networking sites through their own discussion forums they would be doing so much more. I know quite a few people who would switch to Xoops and re-build their old sites for that ability.... I have actually talked with several people about it recently and that's why I started looking around and testing...

I was able to find an unsupported and incomplete module for vanilla forums last week that posted each item from our facebook fan page feed right into the forum as a post. However, there were issues I could not personally overcome. 1) It posted as a random site member making members angry when things were attributed to them that they did not post. 2) Despite changing default category # in the config and script, the posts would all go into the "root" forum category. 3) It had no option to choose which category each feed was posted to.

I was able to customize the output so the posts displayed the full body with pictures, and had the link to the original source right at the top.

After testing this I saw great potential if a developer wanted to create a great module... MagpieRSS is open source and if a similar module was available for Xoops that was functioning I believe it would lead quickly to a revival of many sites which are gathering dust due to the big social networking sites.

I have discontinued testing using vanilla. I haven't had much time to build sites lately, and honestly I don't LIKE vanilla anyway.... However, I have been rescuing and networking animals in need for the past year now. A module like this would allow consolidation of rescue and code red network feeds from multiple social networking pages to be updated and discussed automatically on a single site in a nice forum format. If these could be categorized and displayed with blocks on the front page... and with the new social networking profiles module I noticed allowing people to log in with those ID's.... Well, it could lead to great things. Lots of lives could be saved.

Facebook groups don't have feeds. Facebook pages, however, do. (You just have to know how to find them.) e.g. - Here is the feed from my "Justice for Lennox" page: https://www.facebook.com/feeds/page.php?format=rss20&id=102162786595595

Most people are using pages now anyway. With the new timeline feature on facebook, and with the "pay to promote" policy, people are looking for a way to restore the lost functionality. A module like this for Xoops would allow them to do it with their own websites.

Would be nice if free and paid releases were separated in the news section on this site. The capitalists are hogging all the space.

Has anyone fixed this or has anyone verified that the IPNs still work on 2.4? Thanks.

I fixed it. One of the admins set the session from 1500 to 15000000000. I fixed that and everything works again.

I checked that AND dropped the table and re-built it with the original sql. Same problem. Taking you back to where you were for almost everything I attempt in admin.
