The following have put themselves forward (or have been nominated and accepted) as team members:

akitson - Team Leader
deepy (aka xoops_gold)

Can all team members please PM me with a valid email address.

Just got your PM today that you have sent an email (or perhaphs some more in the meantime) to my email address that bounced back.

It is possible that you have been provided a wrong email address and most likely there are some more databases of emails!!!

The email address you have used is the one I registered several years ago and my account always had a valid email address in here. So I am now a bit surprised...

I would be pleased to do any work in the area. So please let me know. Looking forward to working with you and supporting Xoops...

You are very welcome to core dev's forum at SF for detailed discussion.

I just find the SF Forum a total CRAP and see no compelling reason why one needs to discuss all the things out there.

Which are the other world renouned CMS CORE developers discussing the core developments out there? I am NOT AWARE of it!!!

Further, you as a pioneer of those LOVELY PERMISSION TEMPLATES (which you failed to incorporate into the CORE since many decades) of your own CBB forum module, all the core developers are much better off to discuss all the issues out here.

If there is an interest to develop and maintain a module site, I would be intrested and willing to work with you.

I offer:

- Maintaining an address database of module developers
- Mailing lists for module development co-ordintion
- A vigorous testing of modules
- Contacting module developers and co-ordinating tasks, etc.
- Maintaing news in this regards, if necessary
- Maintaining a mailing list of XOOPS users who wants to receive newsletters of module updates within a centralised system...
- Any other administrative work which is necessary and required.

I would be interested to work with you for the above mentioned work...

What do you think?

I do hope every XOOPS developer who would like to contribute to XOOPS core on a regular base to apply for being a core dev member. (I am not saying joining the core dev team is the only way of contributing.)

This approach is the very best. In this regards, we discussed some months ago:

>>> XOOPS Quality Assurance ...

Regardless of all this phppp, I am eagerly waiting to see, since many years now, how and when you will integrate your (permission) weapon into the core to be shooted on other modules.

Extremely sorry to hear all the news about Skalpa in this year. I sincerly hope that he recovers and comes back. He was, is and shall remain part of xoops, if not in the core team than atleast in our memories...

Extremely glad to hear that things are moving!

My very best wishes...

Did you ever see my feature request in Sourceforge? See it here:

Well, I did place many creative concepts. Are some of those ever been taken notice of? Are they of some value to the core team?

Hi!

Wonderful to see the thread being pushed above after 15 months.

Communication intra community.

The XOOPS developers have really created a total mess by fantastic development illusions of "Revolutions", which until today no one knows if at all they are being done, realised or even if they would be born.

This thread is a proof of it.

I find it totally wrong to make a 360° U-turn to totally redesign the core and freeze the entire development, a stretegic mistake, however revolutionary the new ideas may be.

Regardless of my critics, I was and would like to remain loyal to xoops, when it comes to appreciation of what is already being done or available.

In the meantime, I see that the profiles module have a lot of drawbacks and may need a total redesigning. Currently, XOOPS is _NOT_AT_ALL ready for a community. To run a community website with a lot of users, one really needs to have much more functions. For a mini community like several hundred users, it would be fine though...

Just to let you know : new SmartMail package is on its way ! The module is now fully functionnal. It integrates its own mailing engine but the module also comes with a standalone Mail Sender Service which is highly scalable and a single instance can be use to send emails from multiple sites.

Thanks for this wonder!

I have been eagerly waiting for the final release.

What would be very interesting is to have a mailman like system, i.e. emails getting scanned, entered in the db and then emerging like usenet groups or forums.

The multi-site mod/ hack works, but the administration doesn't . I have 2 sites bridged with it. Also, registration only works on the parent site so I am working on a pop-up registration hack that I will apply to all of the sites.

I have not been satisfied with the multisite module, which I could determine after about hundreds of hours playing. The architecture of the module generated technological restrictions in the database as well as strategical drawbacks at a later date.

However, this could be different with the MultiX module.

Also, I tried to hack XOOPS but things are lot more complicated than I thought and finally gave up.

However, I could successfully hack the cerberus login module to work with several CMS, including to several xoops. This approach seemed very correct as this does NOT screw-up the database and data nesting within th tables.

Analysing the conceptual differences, without the need and competence of programing, I found that a simple variable §sitegroup would do the trick and generate multisites, a concept that does exists in several other CMS I discovered later.

Repeating what I said in dev forum, If I can help, let me know.

For the info of others, Herko also responded to say that multi-site logon (or federated logon) is in the 2.3 roadmap. So to answer the original poster's question, you will have to wait for it to be done in the main XOOPS branch to come, but if you want it now, it will have to be a hack as discussed earlier in this thread.
