I have checked that multiple times and it is off.

They don't seem to be errors but I would just not like them to be displayed.

wiki editor to replace default

I am looking for a good editor to replace the system default. First I need one that doesn't require the knowledge of html but can accept it if needed and that is easy to use. I would also like it to replace the default editor for the system so anywhere there is an editor the user will see then installed one.

Any suggestions?

I have multiple themes on a site I am working on and would like to provide theme switching when it goes live but everytime I change the theme and logout the site default is displayed when I log back in. Is there a way to change this and have it keep the theme that was last selected by the user?

~do you then delete all the old site pages (or move them to a backup directory)?
~ is this virtually seamless or does the site go down until XOOPS is in place and the old index.php page is removed? (Im guessing that XOOPS wont be interfered with from the old site pages???)

I have not done this with a XOOPS installation yet but this is what I have done with other installations.

1. do it at a slow time like late night or very early morning.
2. backup all the old site files to a backup directory on the site or ftp them locally. this is for recovery.
3. remove all the old site files from your site. this will insure a good clean install.
4. COPY the XOOPS files to the root. if you move them then if something goes wrong you won't have a backup.
5. make the needed changes per the faq jdseymour suggested above.
6. test site.
7. if all goes well delete the old backup files. I would not do this tell I was sure the site is stable.
8. if you need a site for testing changes then keep the old XOOPS directory in tact for development, if not delete the old XOOPS directory also.

Error line for some modules

I am getting an error when accessing some modules. They are usually reporting variables already defined. I have debuging turned off and they keep giving the errors. These errors are not with all modules and they are different on different installations.

For instance the news errors in one but not another. The errors don't seem to effect the functionality but they don't look good on the site and I would really rather not have them shown to my users.

Have I don't something to my installation or is this a normal thing?

How can I get rid of these errors?

Is there a flag I am missing somewhere or do I need to modify the files the errors are in?

Though I am new I am going to add my view to this one.

I am currently in the process of replacing a site with the XOOPS cms. What I am doing is I put the XOOPS site in another directory /dev with the accessing of the XOOPS I should be able to simply move the files to the root after I delete the old site. This should keep the site intact with few or no changes, please correct me if I am wrong in this.

With this setup I simply access my site withhttp://sitename/dev and have all the functionality available. This is also allowing me to have the site up for review without the world knowing about it. I am also doing this on another domain with a site that will eventually be changed to another domain completely, this will be a little harder though. For this I will more than likely reinstall and backup the content specific tables then restore.

Hope this helps.

This is comming up in the main page and doesn't look good to the users. How can I get rid of this, I don't want things like this reported to my users.

I have a problem with the 1.3 version. I have updated the module using the update.php but in the main page I am getting the following error.

Notice [PHP]: Undefined offset: 14 in file modules/news/blocks/news_top.php line 291

Any thoughts?

I need a module that will allow the following

- post documents
- modify documents and repost
- post html
- post images inlined, like in html
- security to allow certain groups to post to certain areas
- if a user is not allowed to post to an area they can't see the menu item for the area.

This needs to be like a forum with groups being able to add areas and upload documents.

Is there anything like this. I have tried to use wf-snippets but there is no securiry with it. This would actually work with a security piece and upload/download ability.

Any ideas from anyone.. I could even use multiple modules if there are some that would create what I need.
