If the module is not a working one then there might be some problems in implementing it and making sure it works. Having some simple text in a block and possibly an example of submenus would help a lot with people new to module development.

At least if it were working they could make sure that the basics work and progress from there.

I am wanting to add a link to the main menu that will open in a new window. I have created a simple module for it but I need the open the link in a new window. Is there a way to do this or am I going to have to use something such as multimenu or WF-Sections?

Ok This is what looks like it happening and a potential fix.

What happened:
the xoops_config table auto_increment field looks like it is messed so that you are getting to the max.

The Fix:
There is no way to fix that except to drop the column and recreate it with the same attributes it had. WARNING: there is a linked table, hence the id in the first place. This is the xoops_configoption table and THERE MAY BE MORE but that is the only on that has the same field name so in theory that should be the only dependancy existing. If you look at this document, in the comments, you will see how to "reset" the auto_increment field in mysql.

No on with my problem I am looking at changing the editor in my sites and allowing the users an option of editors or at least me the option. I have read many posts about the editors and how to put them into XOOPS and about 2 days ago I found some mention about the xoopseditor I downloaded it and that is where I am getting stuck I have not found any docs on how to properly implement it and what to do with all the files and dirs. I am assuming that the dirs go in the root/classes dir but what about the files. Eventhough I am installing this on a testing site I don't want to mess something up because I won't know if it was me or the xoopseditor.

Also, is this the best way to go for the future or would it be better to "simply" do one of the hacks. By my understanding this is the start of a editing framework for XOOPS so it seem like it should be the way to go looking forward. What are your thoughts though?

If you are using the newsBB 2.02 you can add a poll you just need to configure it to do so and have the poll module installed.

I am not sure about the previous versions of newsbb I just started using it at the 2.02 version.

When creating the forum there is a "Allow Polls:" yes/no radio button make it yes and you will get a button to the left of the new topic option in the forum.

Ok so far so good for the wf-downloads.

One problem though and I have look everywhere I can for permissions and such and could not get this answered.

I have a test account for a custom group and I uploaded a file a group that that account has submit approve and view authorization for. I also, since this is an internal site, have auto approve on. When the user uploads the file the file goes in and is ready for download. I confirm this by checking the download in another browser with admin access. When the custom group user window reloads though the download is not there. In the admin window I check the file and it had been approved automatically for dl by webmaster and registered only. How do I get it to be approved for all users/groups that have access to that area?

Found another problem..It is not letting me add a file with the extension .doc I have tried to update the mime type and yes it is turned on. I also added a xls type and it is working just fine, but .doc is not. Though I need a fix for this for my public sites I would like to know if I can add a *.

Once again I would like to thank you for the help. This works great but I do have one question about it.

I have the waiting content block but it is not reporting anything waiting for me. Actually I have installed a lot of modules over the last week and haven't seen that for any of the modules yet. What am I missing here?
