When moving sites you have to empty the cache and template directories (except index.html) and also the sessions table in the db.

Inputting it as html will probably not help you, because when it is showed, I assume you will see the html tags.
Try once by entering some html in a signature in phpMyAdmin.

For the calender add a z-index:100; or something to the calendar div in your css file.

What themes are you using and what is the desired position of this blocks as set in the bloak manager in admin?
Some older themes are not capable to show all 8 postions for blocks. Check out the code of theme.html of both themes.

The Url is changed, if you have appointed the rss module as default module for the home page in the preferences. The only way to do this is only using blocks on the front page.

Probably a wrong time format in the options of the block (edit block in admin block manager).

Mosttimes you don't have access to the php.ini or httpd.conf file (See your hosters documentation). You may try to put
php_admin_flag allow_url_fopen off
in a .htaccess file in the directory where mainfile.php is located. If you have no permissions to change it, your server will crash with an html 500 error.
In that case, remove the file again and open a ticket to your hoster and ask them to set it to off.

Seems a bug.
Are you saying leaving these date fields empty was not a problem in 2.2.4?

Index file and the showed part of the mainfile looks ok.
You have upgraded your XOOPS to 2.3.3?
Did you run the file check (see release notes)? (For upgrade there might some errors, which is normal, due to the upgrade instructions.)

With the exit, copy the query and put it in the SQL window of phpMyAdmin and press go. It would give a clear error message if the query itself is not acceptable.
