I have an Ajax Chat up and running on my site. Can't really recall if it was an actual xoops mod, or where I grabbed it.

xoops 2.4.4

If you wanna check it out, here's how to get there:
http://infernallogic.com/reguser/modules/chat/
user: TestBob
pw: guest

Let me dig around in the thing to see if I can locate the zipfile and where exactly it came from.

I'll share.

(It's hardly perfect, and I haven't seen it function under load yet, but its working)

*edit*
forgot to mention that the login info is only going to be valid for today..
If you read this after I change it and want the module, drop me a note here, or wait until I recall where I got it from..

hehe yes of course xoops_version.php hmm this has me buggled also..

Only thing I could think of was this uppercase module name in language definition vs. the lowercase dir name.

Try to uninstall and install again with the changed xoops_version.php ??

When I said "uninstall" earlier I probably wasn't clear..
I just replaced the directory.. Can't get it to see the module let alone install it as named.

I just don't see where fiddling with the directory will change anything. It either sees the directory as named, or it doesn't..

I will try cleaning the cache again.

Where else would directory/module names be specified?
Or more specifically where would the variable be read from at the start? (where the module admin page reads it from)
The more I know, the more I know that I really didn't wanna know.

@Culex: Did you mean "xoops_version.php"?

Replaced the line with no effect.

Cleaned cache, uninstalled and re-installed & replaced directory using lower case letters in directory name. Searched for stray tables in database. Found none.

The module manager doesn't even see the module/directory unless I rename it to upper case letters (xim vs. XIM)

I'm stumped. Guess I'll wait on the release version for a fresh start.

I've come to that conclusion too.

I'm going to deactivate and delete the old install, and delete any leftover tables. I thought I had removed all of the previous tables from my first attempt.

Start from scratch. Seems the simplest method.

Those files are present..
The directory name may be an issue.
I have been able to install using XIM, Xim, but not xim.
It's currently named XIM, and installs. But again I get a whitescreen when I make the module visible on all pages.

And the footer bar doesn't show in any configuration.

Its been a long day cleaning virii in the forums, and my brain is drained. I'll get back at this tomorrow, or late tonight if I grab a nap.

Thanks for the assistance. Its going to be something stupid and simple that I overlooked. It usually works that way..

Looking closer at debug info. Its going to be a jQuery thing..
jQuery is not defined. Line 38

Let me re-read the thread. I think this issue was covered already..

The turbo is off, (Opera 10.51) and as long as the footer bar is disabled I get to a Xoops IM page. But nothing there but a header. Whether or not there are other users online.

I'm inclined to think its something about the Zeta-Bordoux (sp?) theme I have installed. What if anything would the footerbar be interfering with?

Is the footerbar required for operation?

Java is always enabled, as I run a couple GM scripts daily for my work in forums on another site.

*edit*
I'll allow anon access to it, if you feel ok with a first hand look at where I am with the thing..

Gimme a sec.

Ok, thats progress. But I get whitescreened when the module loads..

Here's the debug info from Opera Dragonfly:

Linked script not loaded

The file is present. Have no clue as to why it isn't loaded..
