Hello,

2 years ago i was using B2evolution before using xoops.
There was a plugin for a chat like facebook. It was integrated in the admin toolbar.

As the admin toolbar is finding is place in themes and GUI in xoops, it would be nice to incorporate this bar by default in every theme, and by the same way include in it the who's on line, including the ability to open a chat.

Maybe it would be necessary first to open a new subject, for include in the core the admin toolbar, and after add an option to active/desactive the chat in the toolbar.


About the chat, maybe it would be possible to adapt the shoutbox from CVD ?

Someone to update adresses+googlemap 1.72

Hello everyone,

The author of the module adresses+googlemap informed me he has no time to update his module and he's agree that someone do it.

Below are his recommandations:

"TO DO LIST :
- Rewrite of the module using the classes, and fully compatible with the latest XOOPS versions (there are some 'warnigs' and 'deprecated' using this module with XOOPS 2.3.3)
- Improve ability to customize the maps (Google maps API improved, there is GEORSS support, a wanderful possibility of customization for your maps)
- Add the ability for other modules to use the maps created (for exemple, create a new tag for editors, like [map] to insert maps in any text...
- ..."

This module is quite useful to do a list of places and find them on a map!

=> Does someone available to update it and why not develop it ?
=> Have you ideas of development for this module ?

i'm using exrcal 2.2.2 and extgallery 1.0.8 on XOOPS 2.4.3 (updated this morning)

I didn't notice bugs yet... It seems to work fine

I'm still using extgallery today. The slideshow and blocks are very nice.

To my mind, it's still the best today, but other new modules will maybe make me change my mind by the year, like TDMPicture that need to be a little bit more developed fo now (starting by an import option ;).

The only pb of extgallery is the updates, but in the same time its remain very usefull and working for now. But i'm not worried about it : it should be one of the most used for gallery, so there will be a follow up by the comunity if zoullou decide to stop to manage it...

About your permissions tab, i have no idea where the pb could come.

I'm also worried about the updates of extgallery... longtime i didn't see any!

About your problem of category creation, i met it also and could solve it by changing the default editor (i think it was bugging with fckeditor)

Maybe you can try again by changing it...

To converge with another idea i had, to create subfolders for differents files in the uploads folder (like uploads/avatars, uploads/smileys, uploads/banners...),

Why not create subfolders for each set of icon in a folder uploads/icons/, so we could select the default direction of a set.

uploads/icons/default
uploads/icons/set1
uploads/icons/set2

after that, it would be nice for each module, if it needs others particular icons, to prepare 2 folders :
- modules/name-of-the-module
- icons/default/ (with additional icons if necessary)

So in the admin part, we just have to select the folder name of the icons desired.

Hope my idea is enough clear...

By the way, thinking of it is a nice idea!

To my mind, it's better to use the biggest size, so they can be reduced if necessary in a module by customizing the size in templates... (the contrary wouldn't be nice).

Also using icons without background, like png or gif icons, would be nice!

Would it be possible to choose an "icon set or text" in the admin panel, as we can choose a theme for exemple ?

This would be nice!
