Just to add another note: do not confuse a VPS server with a real server as the speeds do not even come close. This is something that web hosts often mis-sell very badly. Other VPS servers on the same machine do affect your vps performance (despite what webhosts say).

If your site is running slow then like JD said, you have to optimise it

I recently had to cancel a VPS with Surpass hosting as it performed very very badly.

Often my very old machine (a 600mhz 64mb machine) performs much betters than my old vps, which was marketed as a quad core 8gb server.

I've used unset($_SESSION['var']) is XOOPS with no problems (as seen in xAsset).

I would like to allow end users (all skill levels) to be able to drag a thumbnail from a gallery module into an article module.

You will need some serious AJAX for the drag and drop functionality, which doesn't exist in any of the existing gallery modules or article/news modules. Also, drag & drop is not as easy to do on the web as it is on the desktop so my guess is that something like this is some way away as it requires both the gallery module and the article module to support drag & drop.

I do remember stumbling onto an AJAX driven cms... was it modsx or something like that?

My brother in Gentoo!

do they do a 64bit version of gentoo?

Oh yes. Supports: alpha amd64 hppa ia64 ppc (32 bit) ppc64 sparc64 x86

I've got it running on some of my older machines.. Gentoo with XFCE4 + VNCServer and I've got a perfect remote server which I can VNC onto.

Also got it running on a few XBOXs as well (perfect for low electricity 24/7 usage...ie running BIND, Asterisk, OpenVPN etc..)

DRM = EVIL

I'm a Gentoo man myself... have it installed on five of my boxes... I continue to be surprised by what runs under WINE these days as well.

Monty.

Windows Vista is the best thing that will happen to the IT industry!!

Once Vista hits the shelves it will become apparent how restrictive this platform is with its built in DRM and insane licensing. Not to mention that fact that you will need tonnes of memory to run it (I saw Vista running with nothing but Process Manager and it was using around 500MB ram... compare this to a default NT4 Server using 17MB).

Couple with the fact that its only a 32bit OS as well it will be very easy to hit the 4GB memory limit with this mutation running on your machine.

Tactics such as making DX10 Vista only doesn't help either.

This might be the wakeup call that is required to show Linux as a true open alternative!

This is the standard url to access the admin area that modifies a user (uid 57 in this case).

Since your log copy/paste is incomplete I cannot tell you more.

Complete.

Incomplete as the GET/POST detail is missing and so is the IP address and time stamp.

Xoops doesn't support SSL naively outside of the login functionality. If you must have a module or page that takes the site from non SSL into SSL mode then a little hacking is required.

The quickest way I found to achieve this was to use the PECL runkit function php library to enable changing the XOOPS_URL constant in your code fromhttp://yoursite.com tohttps://yousite.com when required to be in SSL mode.

Change hosting company with one more professional.

This wont help much as more and more hosts are moving towards phpsuexec, which is what you are on if .htaccess files generate a internal error 500 when attempting any php directives.
