I usually keep a list of the downloads and their IDs when I create them. otherwise if there isn't many downloads to begin with I just try and guess the one by looking at the dates I submitted them usually I remember and I just count from there.
NOTE:
If you delete a download item new downloads are still numbered accordingly i.e. once ID#3 is used once and you delete it, it won't be used again.

it's hard to give design help if people can't see what your trying to work with. there is a million and 1 ways to put a logo on the top of a page. depending on the theme your using it can be very simple or not so simple todo. give us an address to see so we can give more input.

I have News as My home page. is there anyway to decrease the value of items displayed to less then 5.
for having it on my home page I think the first 2 Articles is enough if they want to read more they can goto news sections and read them all. as is people have to scroll 5 miles to get to the bottom of the 5th news item lol

thanks for any help on this

Hey,

with the new laws in effect for Can Spam. is XOOPS planning on making a more detailed newsletter system?

there should be some way in the site for members to sign up for newsletter without going into their profile. somewhere where they can join and quit a newsletter subscription just by entering email and either pressing Quit newsletter or Join Newsletter.
but I think it should be an actual XOOPS Feature. over the last couple of years XOOPS has become more and more used by business professional and not just developers websites and I think it is an important feature.
what do you all think?
maybe something for 2.1.x

Im trying not to have someone do the work for me but yes I would like my XOOPS sites to look like the Entry Page www.stradegyonline.net I have Created for my Domain.I basically just made a table on entry page and added some info. I would like to use everything but that table in the XOOPS theme for my destination sites(subdomain).

you should be able to see the Raw Source Code from View Source.

Thanks

use this in top of CSS file of your theme

background-image: url(images/pc_bg.gif);

Edit In: /path_to_xoops/themes/your_theme/style.css

Place image in /your_theme/images/

Example:
body { color: #000000; background: transparent; background-image: url(images/pc_bg.gif); margin: 0; padding: 0; font-size: 9px;}
hr {color:#9FBCE3; height:1px;

1 of 4 XOOPS Siteshttp://www.stradegyonline.net/gaming

Ok, now when I goto this site it will have 4 banner links within this Grey window (in the Screenshot) one banner for each of my XOOPS sites. basically I want to wrap this html page into the My XOOPS Theme so my XOOPS sites look like my home page. only think I will change for each site them is the banner and they are all in theme then. is there a program that will generate html into CSS or something similar? Im taking some courses now on CSS and PHP but I still don't know enough to do it without guidence.
basically Im having trouble using my CSS with XOOPS and I can't figure out why HELP!!

In preferences set your home page to show news page.
this will show your news on front page.

As far as themes you just have to work with them. there is no easy explaination of themes just learn to work with css js and XOOPS look at the difference in some of the themes available in downloads. not much to them if you just look over the contents and the install process the rest is all what you know about design.
