Adding Content

I've got myself a bit confused again!

I'm looking to add content to my site, I've installed the theme that I wanted & modified the HTML so that it has "Sponsor us" as a link along the top, I now want to create a page that details what kind of spronsorship we're after etc..
I've downloaded & installed tinycontent, but I'm not sure it's what I'm after. I want the content to be visible, regardless of whether you are logged in

Is TinyContent the best way to go about this or can I create a custom block for this - if i create a custom block how can i link to it???

Thanks

Jim

Re: Adding required fields to the User registration form

Actually reading the description on the SmartFactory Downloads for SmartProfile if says "Features:
Dynamic user fields" am I not wanting Dynamic user fields?

Re: Adding required fields to the User registration form

Hi Lance,

That sounds fantastic, I did notice it on the homepage news for XOOPS, not quite what I was after YET!!!
Any ideas on a timeline!?

Didn't want to swap over to XOOPS 2.2 just for that function (still learning & that would be a nightmare!)

WF Downloads - Excel MIME Types

Dear All,

I'm trying to make Excel Templates available for download, I've added the MIME type to the library (see screenshot)

http://www.vetscope.co.uk/screenshot.jpg

They are all separated by spaces, but when I try to upload an Excel file i get:

Errors Returned While Uploading
MIME type not allowed: application/vnd.ms-excel
If the page does not automatically reload, please click here

What do I need to do?
What's going wrong?

Thanks,

Jim

Re: Can I do this with an Article Module?

Thanks very much for the reply, I was reaching the same conclusion myself - what would be the advantages of using Smart Section?

Re: Post News "Sorry but either there are no topics or you don't have the rights to post in any topic."

An update...

I knew it was me being stupid!

I just needed to set the permissions for all the queries!

Sorry

Post News "Sorry but either there are no topics or you don't have the rights to post in any topic."

Hi All,

I have searched the forum & FAQs but couldn't seem to find an answer (for what hopefully will be a simple question!)

I've created a topic, have altered the Permissions to allow the webmaster (me) to post new news, but I still get the message below:

"Sorry but either there are no topics or you don't have the rights to post in any topic. If you ar the webmaster, go in the permissions and set the 'Submit' permissions"

I have reinstalled the module, but still no luck - anyone got any ideas to hopefully a stupd problem?

Thanks,

Jim

Can I do this with an Article Module?

Dear All,

I'm currently putting together my FIRST XOOPS site & I absolutely LOVE it!

I am however a little stuck as to the best way of going about doing the following:

We run an information service, we currently have a large number of PDFs that we want reigstered users to have available, they would be grouped into various categories.

What we would like are the PDFs to grouped (as with most article modules), but then when an article (as a PDF) is selected it opens in a new browser window (rather than some of the hacks where it opens in an iWindow)

In the future we would like to give users the options of uploading an article (which is then checked & converted to PDF by us).

Would anyone have any advise or recommendations with regard to modules for this?

Thanks,

Jim
