Hi svaha

Well I posted it here
and I posted it there
thinking about posting it everywhere

C'mon someone must have an answer to this. Category navigation works on the Admin side but not the User side. Seems obvious to me there must be some code missing somewhere. But where?

I've trawled through all the articles on Smartsection 2.12, searched as many posts as I could find on this site and smartfactory's site, thought I'd found a solution but it didn't work, kept getting parse errors or blank pages. Been through all the coding to see if I could by chance fix it.

So far yours was the only reply and zilch from smartfactory's site.

Is there a fix?
Will there be a fix?
How long is a piece of string?
Will christmas come first?
Are there really fairies at the bottom of the garden?

Methinks Smartsection not so smart (pass me the next bottle of headache tablets please)

Just out of interest, what's that xcomics module on your site?

Upon adding 60 categories - and in the admin - setting Maximum Categories per page (User side) to 10

Although the first 10 categories are showing on the 'User side', there is no navigation showing to get to the next 10 categories and so on

Any ideas as to what may be missing or a cure for this (besides a bottle of headachce tablets)

Thinking about trying out the new extgallery and one of the instructions is to delete all files from the templates_c folder except the index page.

Is it safe to have a regular clearout of this folder whenever you want to, does this have any affect on the site at all.

Can't seem to find any info on this

Forum Category Problem and a question

using XOOPS 2.0.15 with form.php fix
newbb1 forum and also newbb1.54 (tried both)

I started with newbb1 forum then tried newbb1.54 version as it had picture upload as well

As these are relatively simple forums and easy to clone, which I need to do, there does seem to be some problem in the way they lay out the categories.

Using a bog standard version of each, when you enter 'ad categories' them 'ad forums to categories', when you set up a few first off every thing is OK.

This is until you wish to add more categories and forums later. Then the software decides to have a mind of it's own and slaps the new categories in where it feels like.

According to the control panel all the categories are in order No 1 is at No 1, No 2 as at No 2 and so on. But it's telling me lies, because when I view the forum as the public would see it, then....

No 6 is at No 1
No 4 is at No 2
No 1 is at No 3
No 7 is at No 4
No 3 is at No 5
No 10 is at No 6
No 8 is at No 7
No 9 is at No 8
No 11 is at No 9
No 12 is at No 10

It doesn't matter what I do in moving them up or down in the admin section, it is impossible to get them to move to the correct positions.

Does anyone know of or have a fix for this problem.

And the reason I am cloning the forums is that I can theme each one to their specific topics ie.. the Dogs forum has doggie pictures and navigation, the Cats forum has cats pictures and so on. Makes for a better end user experience. With this there is no problem and the clones work perfectly and I can produce a clone forum in less than five minutes, pictures take a bit longer.

And I have a module question, kill two birds with one stone 'hopefully'

Is there a picture gallery available that allows members to have their own photo album that they can either make public or private?

We could all do with just a quickie, but that's veering off the question.

I seem to remember there is a module available for getting a partners website to open within my own site, so their site can be navigated within the centre frame and all my sites navigation is in place around the outside.

Just can't remember which module, been going through so many I got module overload.

Trouble when you get to the wrong side of 50

As I do not need all the countries listed in the dropdown menu on the submission page.

On what page can I find this list to re-edit out some of the countries. I have been through every page and cannot find this list anywhere.......

AAAh Thanks, thought I might get some right leg pulls with this theme design.

I have another one to release in the next couple of days, maybe sooner, Thomas the Tank Engine. Only get time to do these part time.

Shrek eh! didn't think of that. You could replace the bob the builder pictures with shrek ones.

I'll have to think of one for the girls too, any requests or have I just opened the flood gates?

Cheers
Malcolm
