I personally think its pretty rude that you have to start a project to access forums, even for just a reading ability. I just want access to be able to read forums and go over other questions people have asked.

Yes I do have questions, and documentation is quite lacking. I just want to make a few modules for my own specific use, and to ask some questions about how database access and integration works. The best place for that would be the Dev Forge.. Unless you want those types of questions on this board.

In my opinion you should review your forum access policies. There are plenty of "new" people who would surely benefit from being able to view those forums who may have an interest in creating modules and becoming as you say a XOOPS asset in the future.

Up until this point I have been impressed with the XOOPS portal, but if this is the kind of support you get when trying to customize the portal for your own use, no matter what skill level you are at programming wise, it is making me reconsider my choice.

Thanks.

Ok I found a .css with a div tag in it telling it to center, so I deleted that.. But still no change on the page. I don't think this auto-update of files is working properly....

Actually i just confirmed it. I renamed the directory and changed the system preferences to point to the new theme and now my forums are nicely left justified....

Thanks for the pointer on the CSS file. Anyone know whats going on with this thing not auto-updating? Is there a way to manually make it reload these files?

Thanks!

Ok great..... NewBB2 eh? I will poke around and see if I can use it..

The template option is set to yes. I am editing newbb_thread.html just to put in an align="left" in the <td> filed to make the topic & the comments go left justified instead of centered.

No change on viewing the page. I copied the file as well to the theme that is being used into a templates directory as it suggests in the preferences menu as well just to make sure that was not it.

What am I missing here?

Thanks!

I am having problems with the forums that come with Xoops.. 1, they don't look like the same forums that we are using on here.

2. With the latest download, when I select a topic to view, the contents of that topic are displayed centered. It is a really annoying way to have to read forum messages..

I tried editing the templates to make it more like the way I want to have it viewed, but any changes I make dont end up with any results on a reload of the page.

Some guidance for this would be appreciated, or a link to a better forums package that works with XOOPS would be appreciated.

Thanks!

This is great, thanks alot. I downloaded the update, copied it over the headlines folder in modules, uninstalled and reinstalled headlines, and now the feed works......

Take Care!

Nothing fetches at all............. The XOOPs feed works fine, but when i put the info in for other feeds, like any of those from the table link I posted previously, nothing shows up at all, other then the normal menus etc that XOOPS has.....

I found a good free syndication site but i cant seem to get it to work on my site. The only feed i can get to work is the XOOPS feed.. Tried the different formats avaliable and the different encoding types to no avail.... What am I doing wrong?

The site the feeds are coming from are at www.prweb.com.. The feed I want is:

http://www.prweb.com/rdf/computergames.xml

You can get to the table of different formats by visitinghttp://www.prweb.com/rss.php

Thanks!
