Go to System Admin - Preferences - Mail Setup and check the settings are ok.

If phpmail doesn't work then try usins sendmail or an SMTP server for which you have a username and password.

Your server doesn't support file locking.

Either switch file locking on on the server (unlikely that you will be able to do this unless you are administrator)

Turn off file locking in the xoopsgallery preferences:

Use flock()?

Gallery uses a locking system called flock() for added protection against data corruption. This is not supported on all platforms. If you're seeing errors like Could not acquire lock then set this value to no.

I use eguide - it works pretty well and the latest version of piCal (0.8) has a plugin so you can display events in the calendar.

Here is a link to eguide:

Presumably emptying the table is dangerous if people are logged in and adding forum posts or comments... when I empty the table they will be logged out?

There should probably be a mechanism in XOOPS core / db admin module to remove expired or old sessions...

Is there even a module that optimizes the tables? Is table optimization really that necessary? Too many questions = too little time!

Yes, I use a custom session to set the timeout to 2 hours instead of 15 minutes.

I now have the 2.0.10 autologin hack installed so I may not need the custom session. Thoughts?

I'll try emptying the table on a test site!

Is it possible for a site admin to setup a default notification setting. eg. I want people who post to a newbb forum to have their 'notify me of new post in this thread' set automatically.

My XOOPS session table is currently 45 Megabytes and has 435,000 entries!

Is this normal?

Can I get rid of some of these sessions? I seem to have multiple sessions per IP address. If yes - then what is the best way to do it? Empty the table with phpmyadmin? I tried optimizing but that didn't reduce the size.

I am using 2.0.10 and have upgraded from 2.0.7 sequentially.

Strange, I just tried it with 2.1.10 and all I got was an empty feed - no matter which plugins were installed... will try again later.

Well I totally forgot about this thread and my notifications didn't seem to be getting through... so big sorry.

Hopefully by now you will have found that brandycoke included my comment plugin in their new version of RSSFit (1.1).

I think the previous problems you were having may have been due to a version conflict of RSSFit - but this is no longer an issue.

I have tested 1.1 with 2.0.9.2 and it all works as expected. Unfortunately I upgraded to XOOPS 2.0.10.0 and now 1.1 is broken. Be warned...

Has there been an update to allow notification of posts requiring moderation? I can't find anything?

I have been getting spam on my forum so switched on approval for anonymous users. Without notification to admin or moderator it is difficult to manage.

Graham
